Only downfall on our whole time there was our air conditioning unit in our room was not as cool as we are used too. What wasn’t clear to us at booking was the “all inclusive” and “all inclusive welcome gift” option. We went for the latter which gave us the “all inclusive plus” package at the hotel and was well worth the small extra cost, giving us unlimited cocktails, room upgrade and discount on the spa. Excellent value for money and still easily got enough for us (27c) at the end of September. The buffet food selection was great for us too as we could pick and choose what we wanted. We loved the stay and the entertainment in the night arranged by Momo was excellent too. Everyone was so friendly and keen to help we felt so looked after and pampered! Particularly the ladies on reception and the guys on the bar. Catering staff were fantastic too, nothing was ever too much hassle. The hotel was a great place for couples or lone travellers, very quiet and tucked away so perfect to relax if you’re just seeking to relax for a few days in the sun. The all inclusive was perfect, plenty of food and drink on offer and definitely would advise going for the gold band. The small town has some shops etc which is good and Chania is only a 30 minute drive away along with Souda which are beautiful towns. Especially the Chania markets! A must go to if you love a bargain! The hotel could be somewhat more clear on what is included etc. The hotel is amazing so don’t let that put you off but we were told the tourist charge was €10 euro per room, per night, which is correct but we were also charged extra and we’re unsure really what that was for. Also we have been twice to this hotel, the first time when booking we had the option available to go all inclusive plus but the second time that option wasn’t available until we arrived at the hotel and it was quite steep compared to the first time we visited the hotel and with not much difference to the basic all inclusive package. After all a gin and tonic is a gin and tonic be that from the local gin or branded big name gin. Overall though, lovely place to stay and the staff are amazing! So helpful and super polite! However this was sorted then next day and we were able to move to the room we had booked. Food and beer were what you would expect from a budget hotel, with some poor dishes and some good ones, choice was also quite repetitive. Most of the staff were great, Penelope (manager) was fab!! Our room was comfortable though incredibly hot and the A/C was not powerful enough to cool it, the staff kindly provided a plug in fan but still so hot night times were difficult, but I think it was because we were the end of a corridor and therefore had the sun on the exterior wall all day? Food options were good, generally a chicken, pork and fish option at each meal, pretty generic AI food but always something tasty available. Definitely worth upgrading to the higher level all inclusive as drinks options MUCH better with this. However there is only one bar and often only one member of bar staff on so were made to feel a bit guilty on occasion ordering cocktails. They definitely need more staff of an evening and/or another bar space. Location is great, right on the beach, with free sunbeds. Kalyves is a lovely little village to explore with lots of nearby beach bars and restaurants if you want a change of scenery, we hired a car one day to visit Kournas Lake (25 mins drive) using the lovely car hire company in the hotel. Nice gym, not hugely stocked, but suitable for a decent workout. We also got upgraded to a sea view room which was great. Food options were varied and plentiful though sometimes difficult to put a 'proper meal' together. Snacks (ice cream, sandwiches, cake etc) were available outside of restaurant hours. We found there to be more snack and drink options available compared with other all-inclusive hotels. Off-menu cocktails cost 7e and Metaxa 3.20e. The very comfortable sunbeds around the small pool and on the beach were limited - although signs say not to reserve beds people did and it was the only way to secure a spot although people did abuse this, laying their towels down and then only visiting for an hour. There are about 5 spaces for 'onsite parking', otherwise there's a large piece of open dirt parking 2-3minute walk away. It's possible to drop luggage off at the front/side of the hotel and staff will direct you to the parking. Rooms have great soundproofing but I found the mattress to be on the hard side and there were no coffee sachets in the room - only 1 coffee pod for the espresso machine which isn't replenished. Not too big a deal when you're on the all-inclusive plan! A notre arrivée nous avons été "surclassé" dans une chambre vue piscine mais double . Impossible de changer nous avons ete forcé de dormir a 3 sur 2 lit simple collé ce qui est inacceptable . Le lendemain nous avons eu un lit supplémentaire d'une qualité épouvantable et très instable. Nous avons été obligé de faire un scandale pour avoir une chambre correct qui as donc fini par arriver le 3eme jour !!! . Le personnel est peu aimable mais serviable dans la limite de leur possibilité . Le ménage dans la chambre ressemble plus a du rangement qu'à du nettoyage. Le buffet varie chaque jour mais seulement sur une semaine comme les animations . La qualité est moyenne et nous avons été plusieurs a etre malade le même jour. Les boissons sont a fuir . Ne vous attendez pas a des jus pour les enfants ce sont des sirop très sucré. les boissons de "marque" mentionné ne sont que des marques locale donc pas de boisson standard (coca cola ,ice tea). Les cocktails sont mauvais, avec la "formule plus" ils sont un peu meilleurs mais les barman peuvent se montrer desagreable car c'est plus long a faire et qu'ils n'ont pas envie . Habitude grecque ou non le personnel se parle très mal entre eux voir se crie dessus public . C'est un hôtel calme et familial dans l'ensemble mais de tres mauvaise qualité pour le all inclusive. Ci siamo trovati benissimo fin dall’inizio. È diviso in due parti con una piccola stradina che lo collega al lungomare di Kalyves. Ha due piscine, due porzioni di spiaggia private, bar a bordo piscina e ristorante interno ed esterno con affaccio su un piccolo fiume che sfocia nel mare! Un’oasi di pace e relax! La struttura è ben organizzata ed offre anche la pensione completa che consiglio assolutamente. La sera trovate spettacoli per piccoli e poi per grandi. Buona cucina e per chi vuole anche una sala giochi ed una palestra! Avevamo la stanza migliore sopra la piscina e con l’affaccio sul mare, una meraviglia. Unico neo se proprio va trovato riguarda le pulizie in camera che andrebbero fatte meglio a mio avviso.
