This property is beautiful. The beach is white sand and has tons of natural shade with palm trees. The rooms are spacious, lovely, and very clean. The “waterfront” rooms overlook the cove and have a nice view of the sunset. The campus is 32 acres. They do have a golf cart service to transport you around if necessary. The devil’s bridge is just a 10 minute walk and is worth seeing. You can get a day pass for free to the neighboring pineapple resort, but the beach at the veranda is better. There are 3 pools and 2 beaches. The service is not very friendly. A few things to be aware of: 1) Bring an insulated water bottle—there are only two little bottles of water in your room on day 1 only. The water pitchers around campus are empty pretty often, but you can fill them up at the bars. 2) Beach towels are scarce!! Don’t surrender yours till you see more clean ones or you are probably out of luck. If there aren’t clean ones, you may have luck asking for some at guest services (she seems to keep a few tucked in there). 3) unless you’re traveling during their peak season (December —February?), both the bars at the small fountain pool and down by the recreation area (tennis/ pickle ball courts/ mini golf/ billiards/ table tennis) are NEVER open. This means —NO Water. So bring some with you. 4) Nicole’s is the restaurant that costs an extra $40 per person. It’s not worth it. 5) The staff does not come around and offer drinks. No big deal, but get ready to hoof it up to the bar.

We enjoyed staying in the villa type where you had your own half of a villa! It was different than the hotel atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating! I loved all the water activities that were available at the beaches on the property and the activities available such as shuffleboard, tennis,billiards, miniature golf etc. I wish there was a bit more night life activities or shows such as bands, dancing or something more in the evening. I also have never had such difficulties getting reservations in all my travels and we don’t mind eating at the 9:00 pm times. We couldn’t even get a reservation that late or any time most of the times. Thankfully the buffet was good and offered an array of delicious options. The island is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay! The owner should be very proud of his fantastic staff! Well done!

A nice hotel located on a nice headland location but not a resort for lovers of the sea. The resort has two reasonable beaches but the sea on Rasta beach is basically a marsh with a dock and the other is like swimming in milk. There is also construction work in progress from 0800-1600 Monday to Friday where they are extending the sister resort Hammock Cove. The room was as described, basic but comfortable with AC and although getting a house keeping service every other day is not that usual it’s all we needed. The restaurants are not great, the food is sometimes poor quality and the service can be indifferent. The Snails and Tails restaurant is in a lovely location but is let down by poor service. Service was good at Portofino, the best restaurant was the beach Grill but this is not open for dinner. Do not bother with the paid supplement restaurant, the meat was terrible…. The service and overall ambiance was better here than other locations. We disliked the overall restaurants so much we spent as many evenings as possible at the sister hotel - The Pineapple Beach Club. The buffet is ok but choices are a little limited.

Our week at the Verandah Resort and Spa in Antigua was exceptionally enjoyable. Following the Verandah’s recent remodeling and policy change to adults-only, we arrived anxious to experience all the latest. As others have commented, there were challenges securing dinner reservations at a couple of the restaurants, but there are adequate alternatives for dining. Some resort services also suffered a bit from understaffing. In general, we made a choice to tolerate these inconveniences rather than allow them to affect the enjoyment of our visit to paradise. Some of our most memorable staff members (to name just a few) include wonderful Ashah, Javhone, Nicole, Leon, Romaine and Orletea. All of the staff were pleasant, helpful and very courteous at all times. We enjoyed many hours at the Rasta beach, main pool, Falls pool and Lovers beach. Ribs at the Beach Grill were a personal fav, but we enjoyed nice meals at the SeaBreeze, Portofino’s, Sails and Tails, Pappa Riccos and Nicole’s. Our favorite excursion was our half-day on the Calypso Cat. The awesome crew assured everyone enjoyed a great time. We absolutely recommend that everyone book this fantastic excursion during their stay at the Verandah. (See our longer review on T.A.) Until next time…. Ed & Dawn

This resort is good for people who want to take a break from their everyday routine. The views are incredible, the main beach is beautiful. We stayed in room 243, a perfect location, you walk out to the main pool area as well as the buffet and restaurant, the walk to the main beach is about 1 minute. In my opinion the buffet has better food than restaurant for dinner. The best cocktails are at the beach bar for sure. Customer service is alright, I had some questions so I called the guest services, they didn’t give me an answer and said they will call back but they never did. But the resort it self is beautiful, I would definitely recommend it. If you are looking to do some tours, definitely try the stingrays city, amazing experience and not too fur from the resort. A 10 minute walk from main beach to Devils Bridge is a must as well.

The reaort is very hilly. After first receiving a bad room at the bottom of a gully with steep slipes on all sides, they moved us to another room more on the level - still waterfront - and all was well. Reception staff were very accomodating. Food is only OK... more 3 star than 4 star as was the service. There are 2 small beaches with Lovers Beach being the larger with nice walk in. Shallow and gets muckier as you go out. The smaller beach by reception is nice and quiet but poor swimming there. Nice watersports in the bay. Rastabar and food are good at the beach. Pizza at Lovers Beach is great. Sails and Tales is good but we didnt enjoy the Italian Restaurant due to limited menu for us. All in all, nice resort but we preferred the St. James's Club much more. Take the time to go over to Pineapple Beach Club... the beach is fantastic.

We spent nine days here and had a wonderful time!! Beautiful grounds and an even better staff. The drivers, the waiter/waitresses at the Seabreeze, the cleaning staff for our room and the bartenders in particular were the best of the best!! Our room was among the nicest, if not the nicest that we have stayed at (this was our 24th resort trip). It was clean and the walk in shower was immaculate. One thing that was only mentioned maybe in the most recent review was that guests of the Verandah can access the restaurants at the Pineapple Resort. We tried Chef Pietro's at the Pineapple on our last night and it was great. At the Verandah, we enjoyed Portofinos and Sails and Tales for three of our dinners. Nicole's however, was not worth the upcharge. We did a dinner of light snacks at the Wavy Wicket one night. Shout out the man in charge there who was working the bar and was very accommodating with our food order!! We honestly never had an issue with the reservation system for the restaurants. It just took a few minutes before or after breakfast to stop into guest services on two days and we were fine with dinners. For lunch, it was Sails and Tales, the Rasta Bar or Papa Ricos which being native metro New Yorkers, compares favorably with NY Pizza!! We actually enjoyed sitting outside on the warm nights after dinner and taking in the poolside musical performances. We had a most relaxing time and would highly recommend!!

Gated with security to get in or out. Buffet average at best. Other restaurants were decent if you could get a reservation. Good booze selection. Employees were half friendly and half not. Sots on 35 acres so be prepared to walk some. Beach is slimy at waist deep. Beach at Pineapple was fine. Quiet resort and nice rooms.

Small by nice beaches. Good food options but food was hit and miss. Nice pool. Wasn’t easy to book restaurants. Only 1 guest service person so had to wait in line. If you got there later dinner options were limited and some booked. Sports bar food and drinks and bartenders very good. They didn’t always have pool and beach towels available. Pizza and papa Rico’s was very good, and Gerald did a great job handling the orders a cooking the pizza by his self. No beverages supplied in mini fridges was disappointing, for all inclusive. Having carts and drivers to take you around the property was nice.

Positives: Great property and facilities, decent beaches, awesome staff, decent food, great drinks and service. Not so Positives: The management has this crazy and inefficient system for making reservations at the nicer higher end eating establishments whereas you can only make in-person reservations on within 24 hours of your desired dining time. So you have people having to get up early to stand in this long slow line to try and make a reservation at the restaurants. All of the reservations for that time period were always gone when I tried, so I never got to eat at the nice restaurant. Probably the worst reservation system to have. Why can't people just just use a phone or online system to make a reservation two or three days out?!?!

Rooms very nice. People are unfriendly, with a few exceptions! Unorganized and figure out as you go approach. Understaffed since they laid everyone off for the remodel process, so everyone is new. Restaurants are decent but can only book 3 days in advanced and fill quickly. Drinks are truly alcohol and are not watered down which was a huge plus! loved the cottage layout!

This property is clean and kept extremely well. Staff is amazing, kind and helpful. Duty manager Ron went above and beyond to address one of our concerns. Everyone at front desk, bar area and restaurants are great and friendly. I would have liked to see a better food options and access to food. The wait time at restaurants were sometimes too long. Otherwise, this is a great place for families.

The property is quiet and a wonderful place to bring family mainly kids not for someone who is looking for the night life.. rooms were okay(basic clean). There was some spots on the walls that could use a cleaning or paint over it but i didn't let that ruin my stay i had a good time…

I enjoyed the welcoming attitude from the staff members but I did not enjoy that they appeared to have been short staffed. Also, this is a decently large resort with a landscape containing many hills, I found myself having to walk from one side of the resort to the other multiple times because there were only one or two active shuttles daily. The island is gorgeous and the perfect place to relax with your significant other, but I don’t believe I’d stay at this resort again.

We stay for 3 nights great resort but the cleaning service need to be everyday because when you take baby’s you need to cleaning service due to pampers .The food I would say is average.The door needs additional locks.

The Verandah is a clean and comfortable resort, with great view of the sea from various parts of the resort. It is well laid out and has extensive menu and drinks options. Loada of places to relax from poolside, to beach front, to cafe. Entertainment was excellent and fiesta night was fantastic. All the saff from front desk, to guest services, to restaurant, to bar, to house keeping, to porter, were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will be happy to go back
