Excellent Stay
The hotel is in an excellent location with many banks and restaurants in the vicinity. It was also very handy yo have a taxi rank outside the hotel which made getting about very easy. The hotel staff were all very friendly and professional and I felt they did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed in a suite which was large and had a good sized bathroom with large bathtub and separate walk in shower. The normal bathroom toiletries were provided. The room was cleaned daily in an efficient manner. BBC World was the only English speaking channel available on the tv, the rest being French or Malagasy, but then I didn't travel to Madagascar to watch tv. There is an excellent spa with swimming pool, hydrotherapy and sauna. The restaurant is well appointed with a fairly good selection of dinner options but I felt that the breakfast offerings need to be reviewed as frequently things were not replenished. The service however was good and I had no complaints. I fully intend to return to Antananarivo in the future and will certainly choose Le Louvre hotel as my hotel of choice.

Rooms are comfortable. Pool is indoor & jacuzzi, sauna also available. Pool seems heated & water upto waist height. So very safe. Room cleaning was not good. Except replacing water bottle & adjusting bed sheet, nothing else was done.

Hotel Le louvre, Antanarivo, Madagascar. Room is good & comfortable but pathetic room service. Room is not even cleaned. No toiletries placed, sink remain dirty. Just water bottle was replaced. Not expecting such service

Was sold as a suite , bedroom and separate living area. . The living area was abs 8ft square ‘shelf ‘ accessed by dangerous stairs . The restaurant and bar staff lazy beyond belief. Half hour wait for everything! The close. At 10pm , not acceptable im a four star hotel .

A comfortable hotel
I very much enjoyed my stay at Le Louvre. The food was good, the bedroom was clean and mostly comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and professional. Two things I did not care for: the loft in the room was a nice idea, it had the desk but also the coffee maker. so to make coffee you have to bring the coffee pot down into the bedroom then down again into the bath, get the water then to all the way up again. there is no railing to hold on to go up or down the stairs. The lights in the room were very decorative, but also not very bright, so even with all the lights on it still seemed dark in the room.

Luxury with high quality food and an amazing SPA
I had a wonderful time staying at Le Louvre, the hotel is in a very good condition, with wonderful facilities, good food and good service. I especially liked the Spa and Restaurant food, the quality of these things stand out here in Madagascar, even among other highly luxurious hotels in Tana I have tried (Carlton, Colbert, Tamboho, Nova). I have few complaints; the room was veryveryvery small, and the wifi was slow - but the price of the room is very high (compared to other hotels in Madagascar). So I would have expected more for a price like this. The hotel staff was a bit too much at the morning of our check out day - we were a couple on our last day of a romantic vacation, so you can imagine the situation as we were enjoying sleeping long in bed on the last morning. The housekeeping knocked on our door (I think they should be aware that they only clean the room after the check out) and a man from the reception came to see if we had taken anything from the mini-bar (but we could have told you that at the check out). But....of course we should have put out the red tag on our door handle if we wanted to be left alone..so maybe both are to blame for this.. :) Overall! A great hotel. I recommend it.

Always a pleasure staying here but on this trip confirmed airport pick up was nowhere to be seen and being a late night arrival, the experience to get alternative transport was not pleasant.

The room was extremely small. The "big" bed was two single beds together so was not easy to sleep in the center as the beds tend to slide apart. Very uncomfortable specially since I am 180 cm tall and had to walk sideways into the bathroom. Breakfast was good and staff is really friendly. As I will now be travelling frequently to Antananarivo I will try other hotels before returning to Le Louvre.

I was originally assigned by a group tour company to a horrid little hotel called Chalet des Roses the cost of which was included in the group tour. I lost patience, walked up the road to the Louvre and found the only hotel throughout my entire tour of Madagascar with American standards. One issue. It got very tiresome that the cleaning person pretty well asked for money each time she cleaned my room. This is a very poor country and I always tip generously. But it becomes tiresome to do so on a daily basis. Leaving an envelope in the room with the cleaning person's name would have made my stay a little less annoying. I was sometimes in a hurry and making phone calls and having the cleaning lady standing there with her hand out was less than ideal. This is also a hotel where business people stay and I wonder were they subjected to this too.

Top design in a great location
Great characterful building, you can feel Eiffel straight away, first floor rooms have the highest ceilings in tune with the ground floor reception and restaurant areas. Just across the road from the Buffet du Jardin restaurant and a few minutes walk to Pastisserie Colbert, two key destinations in Tana. Great spa, and had the greatest massage. From an experienced traveller in Africa, this hotel is well up there.

Great stay
Attended a convention in a town nearby and stayed with this hotel. We initially had problems with accommodations that were settled expediently. The staff was exceptional. The breakfasts were also extremely nice each morning.The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is centrally located and close to shopping, grocery, banks and very nice restaurants. The hotel restaurant also had very good food. The taste and appearance of the meals was excellent. They went out of their way to make us feel safe and secure. They had a Jazz night to accommodate our group there that was also exceptional. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to all my friends. Only negative was that the pool and exercise room was closed for renovation.

Very safe hotel in the heart of the city
His hotel was perfect for our 4 day stay. The staff was generally helpful with a slight glitch in our room reservation that was straightened out. Loved the hot breakfast in the morning. The bar included available food if we wanted to eat before the restaurant opens st 7pm.

The hotel spa and hotel itself was great only 2 small issue 1. Internet slow during day 2. In bed board switch to open and close main light so if you roll over you can open all lights But over all excellent hotel

Unprofessional
When booking via Expedia, they seem to "flag" the Expedia customers by initially assigning the worst available rooms. The room we were assigned was no bigger that a small dormitory room. I have booked twice via Expedia and twice directly. At first I thought it was a coincidence but I am now convinced this is the case. Additionally, service reflects the method of billing. I'll never book there again.

the hotel is far too expensive compared to others
Only one single plug! in the room for laptop, charger, TV-box! The breakfast is the same buffet every day, after two days you cant eat it anymore. Security is fine.

Never again!
Reserved and paid for a suite which is 2 floors, a terrace and a mezzanine but when we get there, they don't even say the room isn't available just gave us a room key only to get there and find a tiny one room, 1 floor, no balcony or terrace. When we go back down they don't even care, they just say well then cancel cause other rooms are full, and when we ask to speak to a manager, they point at her sitting at the restaurant having a coffee and is on break so can't talk with us now. Doesn't offer anything other than I should just cancel if I'm not happy they can't do anything .

Horrible time, all the staff does is say yes to anything I asked even if they don't understand and any request or complaints I made and didn't do 1 thing they said or lied about. Never recommending this hotel to anyone.

Horrible experience
Last 2 times I have went and will be the last. First I had the smallest room in a corner and at 8am cleaning staff doesn't even knock and just walks in. In the morning when I complained they tell me on my next stay they will get a better room and will tell staff to knock first. Now the second time a week later I book and go in person the day before to tell them again about the time before and they say they will take care of it. When I check in next day, I get the same room again and when I tell them they just say sorry that's all that's left. And again 8am staff just walks in again without knocking.

Toilet uncomfortable ,shower cabine too small and the sliding door difficult to clode ,result to water everywhere . The only changes is the lobby, Restaurant and the Spa. Staff front office not too efficient , as they are not flexible to do any commercial effort when they committed an error Please do check your bill well before approval, my experience is that my booking was prepaid to Hotel.com . And on check out, I was surprised to have another accommodation bill. And in local currency .

Very good hotel, very good location !
The location is very good. In general the hotel is very good as well. The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The pool and spa area is very nice, but missing a bit of daylight. The breakfast is a little disappointing and the staff should tell that you can order some eggs. I discovered that after 2 days. The staff is very kind and helpfull and they can arrange tours for you. Special mention to Naina, the driver.

Excellent location
The location to this hotel is idyllic. Very short walk downy to the main centre and close to some excellent restaurants- not hard to find in Tana. Unlike other hotels we stayed in Madagascar this one had a distinct touristy Spanish hotel feel and lacked its own individual personality. Moreover they could not find our reservation which we had paid for and deactivated our key so we would have to come to reception for further talks, took further details, and then called us asking when we would be checking out. Initially I thought this was to remind us of our waking call for our flight however soon released it was for the purposes of tracking our movements for the payment (which of course had gone through). Can understand their concern to ensure they had received payment though found it distasteful how they went about ensure in this. Simplicity of friendliness and apologising would have sufficed- but some stubbornness and arrogance came through. That all said if you are looking for a stopover hotel this will certainly do the trick.

Nice and very cosy hotel
My wife and I spent 5 nights there. The staff is really very helpful and friendly. Thks Mr Rado for useful advice. Centrally located near restaurants and nightlife. Take a taxi at night even where you are going is walking distance.
