Rooms are not as described Very basic - our room had hole in curtains, wires hanging from wall where tv was meant to be, raidiator loose of wall and because booked through Expedia couldn’t get a refund or exchange. Coffee machine wasn’t working and very steep stairs ( tbf most of stairs in Amsterdam are very steep)

Love the property. Was close to lots of things. The climb was steep to the room but no compalins at all. I would say dont stay unless you can carry your luggage atleast one or 2 flight of stairs. If you are travelling light would definitely recommend it. Will go back if i travel back to Amsterdam.

Extremely rude front of house, 5 people asked for extra key wanted €10 non refundable deposit. Stayed her in summer 2023 nice staff and clean but this stay opposite. There was tissue and ear buds on the floor, dirty pillow cases. Overall dirty. The following day room was cleaned still remained the tissue. Front of house have to be the rudest people every and I think they are the owners. Wife and husband and daughter. Stay away dirty and extremely rude!!!!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and really enjoyed it. Rooms are small however the location is perfect. Staff was also were helpful and friendly, thank you!

The property is not like the pictures and unfortunately need a lot of updating and cleaning. The rooms are significantly smaller than advertised, very thin walls between corridors and rooms and hence extremely loud at all times. You can hear conversations between rooms at normal talking volume. The windows when closed also do not shield any noise from outside and hence was extremely loud at all times due to the busy locations of the hotel. The common areas need a thorough clean and alongside this the rooms an update and refresh (including painting the walls as they were covered in marks, scuffs, splashes.. etc.) I would not recommend this hotel

Allow me to say that they have an extremely friendly staff. They were super nice and engaging. Now on tonwhy I rated the hotel a 2. I could live with the suicide stairs that are unbelievably steep and narrow. In some places they may require you to wear a harness to go up or down those stairs. I could live with the fact that the TV was not working or the lack of an AC (there is a heater so that was a plus). However, what I can't live with and why I rated them a 2, is the utter filth that all three of our rooms were covered in. The linen on the beds were not clean, were covered in God knows who's hair, the floors were not swept and we're really dirty, and the bathrooms were not very clean. Cleanliness is the most important thing. As stated, I could deal with the stairs, and other items, but clean the rooms and provide clean linens and towels. While I absolutely loved this area of Amsterdam and will certainly stay in this area again, you could not pay me to stay at Hotel Pagi.

Staff were friendly but room was awful. Apparently there had been an overbooking (which was quite a stressful call to receive) so i think/hope this room is not often used as the bed was incredibly uncomfortable, window opened onto a wall, 1 very lumpy pillow each, no headboard and no space at all, the floor is also so sloped that is nauseating. The hallway area was very run down and unclean . would not recommend

This hotel was horrible. I wouldn’t even call it a “hotel”. How it is advertised is not what you get. The room was incredibly tiny, it barely fit two single beds (which we did not have booked). The reception attendants were not friendly and unhelpful. The entire property was dirty including the outside, stairs leading up to the main area, the room and bathroom. The shower had mole, the walls of the bedroom were damaged, discoloured, and dirty. I would NOT recommend staying here.

More of a hostel vibe just with your own restroom. Window wouldn't close, felt like what I would imagine a jail bed would feel like, no air conditioning and stand up fan was broken. Great staff!

The rooms are unlike the photos however the location is fantastic and the staff are lovely! Parking nearby is between $55-63 euro per night. Steep stairs to haul up your luggage but this is expected for Amsterdam. Would stay again!

Clean and quiet, great location! The wifi signal is weak at times and our shower made the bathroom floor very wet. The bathroom handle came off if you weren’t careful.

Our stay was pleasant. Front desk was very hospitable and let us keep our bags there after check out in between hotels. Would say the downside was the noise , no ac and very small for the price. Smell in the room when we first got there was very strong. Great location so made it worth it!

Absolutely disgraceful, disgusting place . Didn’t really want to leave a bad review but we couldn’t take a rest only one night in this Moldy room thanks god … moldy toliet tissue , wall , toliet , in the Conner of ceiling , under the wall light . Smell was just making me sick absolutely . It’s was just one night to stay here .. as we always stay in other our favourite hotel where didn’t have a free room for us on the day so we didn’t have a choice to say here , next day moved back to our favourite hotel . Thanks god 🙏 Not even worth spend €20 for this hotel room . Heard someone is peeing from other rooms , walking etc … still my body is twitching and goosebumps are all over if I remember of that experience ..

Excellent stay. Staff very friendly and overall very happy with the price paid for the stay. I can appreciate that some people may prefer to pay a lot more money for additional comforts but for the money this hotel did exactly what I wanted and for the price I wanted to pay. Would definitely use again.

Nice basic accommodation which is close to lots of the attractions. The room is small but for a few nights easy to live in. The bed was comfy and the free coffee at reception was great. As in another review the stairs were steep and if you had lots of bags it would be an issue but for a short break with little luggage it was great. I would happily stay here again.

Beds were awesome, however 3 twins in one room was too cramped. Lots of stairs. Reception was pleasant and very helpful. Hotel was a perfect location for a canal boat cruise (right across the street) and visiting the famous Flower Market just down the road.

Whilst overall the stay at Hotel Pagi wasn’t bad on the 2nd night the keycard to my room didn’t want to open the door to our room. My friend and I tried ringing the out of hours number, we tried the door several times, it still didn’t open. We ended up spending the night in the stairwell using pillows from reception. Staff were mortified and very apologetic and all went above and beyond to try and sort a refund for that night. Almost 3 months later I still haven’t received it and I sent a follow up email. The overall stay wasn’t bad at all but when I combine it with the experience we had on the second night and the promise of a refund that hasn’t been recieved I have to give it 2**

The staff were EXCELLENT, the room however was less then impressive. The walls were actually filthy! The bathroom was newly renovated but the shower doors let water run all over the floor, until its soaked! The hotel is just run down. You can tell at one point it was a cute hotel, but they just havent kept up with it. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Nice property, we stayed for 4 nights and had 2 different style rooms. (1 room with a double bed and 1 room with 2 single beds) Service provided by the staff was excellent, checkin and checkout was really easy and smooth. Really convenient location with it having a train station close by and also has lots of shops in a walking distance. The Staff had fans all set up in the room for our arrival and they tried to accommodate for any extra requests. Cleaners came around everyday to tidy up the room and refresh and staff at the desk were helpful in guiding us to local attractions. Didn’t notice it to be loud or unclean, only used the hotel to rest up and spent the days travelling around Amsterdam.

The hotel itself is DISGUSTING. Our room was not clean what so ever. There were hairballs on the floor and in the beds. The walls were so thin that you could hear someone’s alarm down the hall. The staff were however nice and offered to reclean the room but that did not takeaway the red stains on the wall and the dirtiness of the room. There was no shampoo or conditioner, but instead there was 3 in 1/ body and hair wash. This review is coming from college students too and that shows how DIRTY this hotel was. Right in front our room was a trash shoot with trash bags everywhere. However, the location was perfect if you are looking for a cheaper hotel in the middle of everything. It was also pretty safe.

Horrible room facing a concrete wall with sludge oozing out. Pigeon poop all over and live pigeons nesting in the crawl space, cooing all night. Bird droppings on the window sill. Front desk manager moved us the 2nd night but no refund was issued. I asked for a discount and was basically ignored. Don't recommend anyone spending $200 a night for a hole in the wall lodging with animal poop. Please expedia group, help me out here.

After making reservations many months ago, we finally arrived at Hotel Pagi. We knew the room wouldn't be ready when we arrived at 10a. When we returned, we took our luggage and we were surprised to see a shoebox sized room and when we pulled the curtain aside to see the view, we were shown a block concrete wall a mere 2 ft from the unlockable window with pigeon droppings and nesting pigeons holed up by the window. The drain pipe showed old water stains and it was horrible, dark and noisy to the sounds of pigeons cooing. The next morning I complained that this was unacceptable and that we wanted a discount and room change. I was told to lower my voice. For $200 a nite, I was upset, angry and demanded action. I got the room changed with little to no remorse and no discount. I am asking Experian to intercede - this room is a health hazard with pigeon poop all over the exterior window sill.
