Worst hotel I’ve ever been in. There are three bags of someone’s old jeans in the closet and the carpets/beds are stained. My wife and I are sitting in the room at 2a, listening to the loud bass from a basement bar and deciding whether or not to go to the airport 8 hrs early

Hotel is running down, dirty carpet, old furniture, Tv was broken, they also have the patio rent to bar and the noise goes until 12:00 am, I don’t recommend this hotel, The only good thing is the location.

Best thing about this hotel Is the location.
The location is great. Central, close to everything, beautiful view, close to grocery store. Kind staff and helpful. Good breakfast that is included. Comfortable beds. Things to be improved on: cleanliness, dusty rooms. stairs were not cleaned. Room had holes in the doors and walls needed painting. There is a very loud nightclub next door - very loud all through the night on a Monday night.

The hotel is in a nice area near the flower market. This hotel has a lot of potential but needs an upgrade. Some new carpets etc would do wonders. There is a lot of dirt under the cupboard which clearly has not been cleaned for many years.

Just one night, but excellent hotel
The hotel is near the Central Station and the rooms are newly renovated. The price is reasonable considering breakfast was not included but that was never a problem because of the great location

I was kept up all night by mosquitoes. I stayed in another location within Amsterdam a few days earlier without this problem, and did not have an issue walking around, so this should not be written off as an Amsterdam problem this time of year. The location is very good.

Terrible hotel
Everything about the hotel (with the exception of the neighborhood) is bad. Dirty rooms, unfriendly staff, loud restaurant/bar next door, mosquitos in the room, awful breakfast, ugliest shower, 50 year old tv in the room.. are a few bad things about this hotel. Some of it is really not hard to fix but looks like they don't care! Like how hard is it to buy new showe curtains so they don't look that bad. Or how expensive is a brand new tv? How about a paint job in the rooms? I will never come back.

Quick overnight
Great location! Valet parking was a little difficult but they had our car ready when we needed it. Breakfast was traditional European style. Rooms need major updating, carpets and floors could use a makeover.

The hotel was creepy and noisy. There's a club right next door, so it was loud until 6am (given it was a Friday night). The room was clean, but it was not nice. It's in serious needs of renovation. The door doesn't work well. We had to shove it open and closed. The shower head didn't work either, and the walls have big vertical cracks. However, there was a free, good breakfast; it was clean, and it had shampoo and body wash.

Hotel is next door to a super-club nightclub. Walls vibrating with loud music on a Thursday night until 5am. Walls very thin so could hear neighbors very clearly. Breakfast very basic. Hotel is good central location. No parking. Street parking is 45euro for 1 night.

Oldies Style motelito in the Heart of Amsterdam
The Hotel is in the heart of the Amsterdam: everything is around you: bars, cafes, museums, tram stop is right there too. The breakfast is very good and it was included - that's a plus. The building itself is very (VERY) old and outdated. But that's like the most of the buildings in Amsterdam. It has a small, narrow, squeaky stairway. So if you have problems with climbing up steep stairs (with luggage in your hands) - it can be difficult, since there are no elevators. Rooms are supper-small and very outdated. Barely room for bed and a small table. It's like a trow-back in 80s or even 70s but maybe that's a part of the experience. Also if you visit doing the summer: rooms have no Air conditioners. Another minus: it's next (sharing the same wall) to the nightclub. So if the night club is open (I think Wed-Sun) - you will hear boom boom base noise till 3am. The bed was very old and hard, carpet old and scary. Bathroom was small but clean, hot water and clean towels every day. WiFi poor, was disconnecting a lot. But the staff is very friendly and helpful - that helps a lot:)

Great location. Room was not clean, full of mosquitos and left with lasting memories (bites) from stay. Happy Zika virus not here yet. Front desk unorganized, but man was pleasant. Breakfast was average. Room not very clean and mattress was on floor. Has to be better in AMS for this price.

The hotel was a little dated, but in comparison to everything else in the price range it was great. The location is why I chose to stay here. Right next to the flower market, 5 mins from the main shopping street, 20+ mins from the station, 15+ mins from the red light district.. Other places in this price range were further out with smaller rooms and shared bathrooms. I had a big room with my own shower/toilet, it was exactly what I was after

We stayed in the quadruple room which was basically the attic. We had seen a lot of bad reviews of this hotel and were very scared but honestly it was really a great hotel. It was lot of fun staying in the attic. Pros: 1. Central location. Everything is at walking distance 2. There is a flower market near it 3. There is a whole street of food places nearby. Halal food available too. 4. Supermarket nearby 5. Next to a canal, so beautiful view. 6. Great free breakfast 7. Good wifi 8. Excellent service. They even let us borrow an umbrella for a few hours 9. Clean bathroom with toiletries 10. Taxi arrived on time. Cons: No elevator. You have to climb 4 flights of steep stairs. Can be difficult for elderly.

Amazing Location!
Perfect location for anything in Amsterdam. Five to twenty minute walk anywhere. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Hotel old and a little run down, rooms need serious updating, but perfect for the price.

Friendly place in run-down condition
Plus: The geographic location is excellent, very nice and central area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made a big difference; the bathroom, though small and simple, looked relatively new and was very clean; the bed was fine; breakfast was perfectly ok. For Amsterdam, the price is very reasonable. Minus: Despite the fact that they clearly kept the bathroom clean and no mold was visible at all, there was a terrible moldy smell in the room and in particular the bathroom. A huge stain on the carpet and very worn-down and shabby furniture, exposed lighting fixtures and dim light didn't help. There is a also a bar or nightclub next door and the bass is audible through the wall - not very loud, but clear to hear- until 2am.

Perfect central location, reasonable breakfast{hard boiled eggs, chees, meat, yogurt, breads, juices, coffee,cereal. But room was looking depressing: old carpet, white walls, very -very old tiny 10 inch TV. Bathroom without shower door. The only good think about room is that it overlook to a canal.

Awesome Stay Great Price
We arrived from a long flight about 9 am and was pleasantly surprized that we could check into our room right away! I did ask for early check in and a shower and got both requests! The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was great for the money. we enjoyed free breakfast and wifi. The hotel is in a fantastic location close to everything. Highly recommend this place for a great stay on a budget

I was in Amsterdam on business. Hotel Agora is in a nice location, although it is pretty loud at night. It is an old hotel and my room was up three flights of stairs. The bedroom was comfortable and the staff we very helpful with my questions about getting around Amsterdam.

Pleasent stay
This is a centrally located, easy to find canal facing hotel. Staff at reception was English speaking and very helpful. Best thing we liked was morning breakfast buffet which was very filling with lots of option to start the day. Reception was open for 24hours. U can always buy reasonably priced items from adjacent supermarket (Albert heinz). Definitely recommended.

Convenient location. Fridge in room. Grocery store below on street corner. Tram stop less than a block away. Greeting from tall thin man (we met his daughter too) when we arrived was great, helped us carry out bags up 4 flights of steep stairs (we had the 4-person attic-type room). Another attendant was a younger, a nice guy, but there was one crabby guy. The reception stayed open 24 hours. Breakfast was sparse, but good. Our bathroom was bright, huge, clean, and had great water pressure for 4 women all to get hot showers! The hotel met our needs, we weren't in the room much.

The Hotel located in an excellent neighborhood at the heart of Amsterdam nearby the flower market and the hot touristic streets of Ams. the hotel is suitable for singles not for families specially the quadrant room we had, it was at the building attic at the fourth floor where no lift in the hotel, we have had to clime the narrow /spiral staircase carrying our bags which was very hard for the kids and of course ourselves, the room was very poor and mattresses were not comfortable at all, no AC, the safe was not working so that I had to carry all the cash I have with me during all the period we stayed in Ams, room telephone was not working too, from the window you could see the building roof full of Cigarettes and rubbish, bathroom was very small with a glass ceiling and very hot, the package included breakfast which we did not even try because it looked very poor (I shall not describe it) reception staff were not friendly. it was my mistake because I did not realized that i is just 2 star hotel and this is what you should expect.

As many has said, the condition of our room wasn't so good. We got the room on the top level and the wooden furniture were falling apart and the little corners had dust. Naturally, I felt the carpets may be dirty too. The TV wasn't working either and WIFI was so weak we barely had it. We could only use their WIFI on the first level. There are also no lifts (as they have informed on their webpage). Our bathroom was located across the hall so we had to exit our room everytime we wanted to go to the bathroom so I would recommend you to bring your own slippers or something if you'd mind. THE BIG PLUS was that the bathroom was WAYYYY cleaner than the bedroom. It was white and seemed so spotless I would compare it to a 4 star hotel. They also provided us with shampoo, body soap and towels. The other plus was GREAT BREAKFAST! The strawberries were really sweet and the crossaints were nice. They have a variety of jam (of course with nutella) for the bread and milk, tea and coffee. They also have other fruits, 3 kinds of cheese and sometimes a variety of ham as well.

Fair Budget Hotel in excellent location.
Staff pleasant enough but little interest shown in residents once introduction given. Hotel a bit down at heel. Wrinkled carpets and curly mats in dining room. Good breakfast. Unfortunate and continuous strong smell of drains in bathroom. Had room "overlooking Courtyard". Courtyard turned out to be a window well only.

Stayed for 2 days to visit a friend and roam around Amsterdam on the weekend. Older hotel with small size rooms that could use some updating. Has a restaurant and bar in a back courtyard, but I did not check them out. Free wifi that mostly worked well for checking email, but not the best if you want to stream video. I would rate the hotel a 2.5 for quality. Main perk of this hotel is the location. The 1, 2 or 5 tram will get you from Amsterdam Central station to Koningsplein in a matter of minutes and there is an Albert Heijn supermarket right on the corner that is open until 10pm. Easy walk to flower market, shopping area, Dam square, etc. Location wise, it is a 4.

Fantastiskt läge precis vid blomstermarknaden och oväntat bra och god frukost. Helt okej rum, men hemsk/smutsig heltäckningsmatta. Städningen skulle ske dagligen men vi fick själva hämta nya lakan och handdukar för att bädda om på egen hand. Värst var att det låg en bar precis utanför rummet. Inte mycket till sömn då denna stängde kl.03,00...

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, a una calle del mercado de las flores y de la plaza Spui. Se puede ir caminando a la plaza Dam o a la de los museos haciendo un paseo y disfrutando de la ciudad, pero si se prefiere no caminar, hay una parada de tram justo en la esquina. Tanto la habitación como el hotel necesitarían invertir en mobiliario nuevo, ya que la cama era algo incomoda pero pasable y el armario no se podía tocar, se rompía seguro. Además, yo personalmente le quitaba la moqueta y lo pintaría. Lo bueno de la habitación es que tenia baño privado y estaba limpio. El desayuno también muy bien, variado y bueno . La recepción casi siempre estaba sola por las mañanas, así que pasábamos a desayunar sin la atención de nadie. Eso si, tuvimos suerte a la hora de la llegada e ida y pudimos dejar las maletas en recepción para poder aprovechar el día. En resumen, no esta mal para pasar un par de días y ver la ciudad.

Bon accueil à l'hôtel, Petit déjeuner copieux et c'est tout ce qu'il y a de positif. Pource qui concerne l'état général du bâtiment c'est vétuste et sale, les peintures s'écaillent, la moquette tant dans les chambres que dans la salle à manger sont pleines de tâches. L'aspirateur ne doit pas être passé souvent, on a retrouvé des pièces de monnaie sous le lit! La rambarde de l'escalier ne tient plus au mur et vue la raideur des escaliers, c'est même dangereux. Les fenêtres ferment mal ou ne s'ouvrent pas! Porte manquante dans le bac à douche.
