However, the entire Western side of San Pedro seemed to be a bit of a joke to me. There is really no access to the beach nor is there great swimming from the beach from any place on that local. We went to secret beach one day and saw that yes, there is good swimming from the beach on that side of the island but the east side should also have the access in order to enjoy that much tourism. Why do people come here without having great ocean access from the beach? For me, Costa Rica, and many of the other locals in Central America, are the right places to go if you just want to hang out and sit on the beach and go into the ocean from your location. I do have to say that the people in Belize are awesome and it’s so nice to be able to speak English in a country where there are multiple languages that people understand. I would also note that the scuba diving and snorkeling in Belize is awesome!
