What a disappointment! The most uncomfortable luxury hotel I have ever stayed in. Building itself costs a fortune: carved on the rock, beautiful gardens, and nothing to do. The pool is deep and the beach shouldn't be so called. Just a pile of rocks. The place isolated in a dangerous curvy road, where you cannot walk or run without putting your life at risk. Parking lot is tiny, but if you do not arrive with your own car, you are confined in a place that doesn't even offer room service before 7:00 am.
Breakfast is good and they provide an hourly shuttle to Amalfi town until 8:00 pm. If you stay in town after that time, a taxi back will cost 25 Euro. No wifi in the rooms, just in the terrace and lobby, and the more people gather there, the slower it runs. TV channels: 7 Italian, BBC, TVE, one French, and one German. Floor was dusty and low quality mattress, despite having new bed linens. The bathroom is their best feature.
This hotel is frozen in time, due to be refurbished. Runs as a 1950's retreat where the highlight is a guitar duo playing at dinner time. Food is average. Your can get better in town.
Elevators seem to be there forever. Door knobs: antiques, and the safe runs with a key!
Will not recommend this hotel: expensive and uncomfortable. Reminded me of an Agatha Christie movie: "Evil under the Sun".
