A good 2-star hotel that was pretty decent value. Very helpful with a late arrival and staff lovely to my two young children. Room as basic but warm and the beds decent. A shower in the bath without a screen always annoys me though! A bit of a walk up to the village and Super Chatel gondola but also a bus stop right out the front. Overall pretty good and would probably stay again.

Clean Convenient Delicious
This is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in for a nice small homestyle hotel. The rooms are warm and comfortable while basic. The food is all home cooked and delicious, we chose to eat at the hotel almost every meal.

Wonderful relaxing stay
Absolutely loved it! Chatel is a beautiful little town--very easy to walk around, as well as get to other locations. The room was very nice, with a balcony off the back overlooking the mountains--breathtaking--with a table and chairs so you can sit out there and eat if you wish. Staff was very nice, and breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here again.

Gem of a hotel in Chatel nr. to Le Chatel DH Park
Fantastic location easy walking distance (5 mins) to Chatel center, bike rentals, etc. Talk to the owners and they'll recommend bike shops, swimming pool, etc (discount access to pool in Chatel and lifts for hiking at Le Chatel). Buy DH Bike tickets at Le Chatel itself. Free bus takes riders (and hikers) plus bikes to the lifts. Hotel is clean and rooms are well outfitted. Most have a great mountain view and a calming stream runs down the side of the property, so blocks and normal hotel noise. Very relaxing to wake up to in the morning. Hotel breakfast is plentiful, in the classic French style (coffee etc., croissant, bread and jam, juice) plus cereal and pastry options at the buffet. Good value too, compared with other locations. Restaurant has a very unique menu, with specials varying daily. Don't expect burger and fries, but instead true French imagination (fondue, quiche, etc.) with reasonable (although not cheap) prices. Local selection of wines available too. Well worth it for anyone except the super-budget traveler. Hotel and restaurant staff speak English very adequately, but will happily talk with you in French and won't automatically switch to English if you struggle a little, but they will help you along. We found this refreshing when trying to use our 30 year out-of-date school French. Menus are in French (maybe they have a hidden English one for those that need it, but we didn't want it and it wasn't offered thank goodness!). **** (August 2014)

Amazing place in a beautiful setting
The room we stayed in was an absolute delight, classic alpine feel that almost seemed unreal. The room also had a little private balcony with a fantastic view of the Alps. Everything was very clean, the shower room was bliss and the beds were really comfy. The location was spectacular, having the Alps all around you and the little village nearby was very cute, shame we couldn't stay longer to enjoy it all.

Very nice hotel in a lovely quiet part of town. Room big with comfy bed. The home made food in the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast good as well. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Great stay for a ski weekend
The room was bigger than expected; the staff was very friendly and spoke English. Beautiful view from the balcony. Modern, very clean bathroom with a stand-up shower (not a tub with a hand-held shower hose). It's a bit on the edge of town, but just a few minutes walk to a downtown with lots of restaurants and the bus stops for the ski lifts. The breakfast was reasonably priced and delicious.

Smnous avons passé un séjour agréable au roitelet, le personnel était rès accueillant et les prestations de qualité. Petit bémol sur la salle de bains en préfabriqué et l'impression de proximité importante entre les chambres. Globalement, une bonne expérience pour un petit séjour à Châtel sur un weekend.

Hotel familial sympathique
Un séjour agréable d'une semaine dans cet hotel familial, à quelques minutes a pied du centre de Chatel, et grand parking gratuit. Personnel très sympathique, bon petit dejeuner ainsi que le dîner (plats Régionaux). Chambre propre, et cosy, avec petit balcon très agréable, avec vue sur le jardin et les montagnes. Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas mais nous nous en sommes passés. La salle de bain cabine est petite mais cela ne nous a pas dérangé. Le seul bémol est le manque d isolation de la porte (bruit couloir, portes qui claquent) et des fenêtres (bruit de la route).

Für 2 Nächte waren wir dort zum Skifahren (leider kein Schnee), rein zum Schlafen vollkommen in Ordnung: Sauber, auch das Bad war schön und sauber, die Hilfsbereitschaft des Hotelteams war 1a, gute Lage, kostenlose Parkplätze. Gerne wieder, dann hoffentlich mit Schnee oder im Sommer mit dem Motorrad.

L'approche de l'hotesse d'accueil est plutôt bizarre. Au lieu de demander notre choix sur l'exposition de la chambre, elle nous demande si nous sommes un vrai couple, si nous préférons une chambre avec deux lits ou avec un seul lit.... Nous sommes pourtant un couple homme-femme d'âge similaire, mais mixte (français et vietnamienne) La chambre est petite et l'équipement franchement médiocre. La salle d'eau n'est pas aéré et l'eau stagne sans s'évaporer. Nous avons occupé la veille une chambre d'hôtel au même tarif à Annecy, nettement plus confortable et plus grande.

Quand le plaisir et le confort s'allient
Simple escale d'une nuit pour un voyage en Italie : c'était une première et il y en aura d'autres. Personnel de caractère et attachant, lieu charmant, nourriture savoureuse, et pour un prix modique une chambre tout ce qu'il y a de plus correct ; sans oublier le plaisir d'avoir un restaurant si agréable dans l'hôtel et le confort d'un parking à disposition. Vivement l'année prochaine :) !
