Smashing hotel with a full range of facilities in a lovely setting. Close to motorway but no noise from it at night. I stayed for 2 nights whilst on a business trip in the area and would plan to do so next time. Dinner and breakfast the restaurant were both great.

The property wasn’t bad overall. The issues were… that the day of the checkin they didn’t have hot water (the reception claimed a power outage that day) but the next morning it was the same… no hot water. Keep in mind it was December, so no cold shower recommended. Also the hall towards the rooms had a temperature almost like outside

Dear sir,Thank you for your feedback.Thursday there was a power outage in a large part of Apeldoorn city indeed.This power outage was resolved after a couple of hours. This power cut caused our boilers to fail.We did not notice this immediately on the evening itself unfortunately. As a result, the water slowly cooled down and did not reheat since the boilers were off.In the morning, we received the first reports from guests that there was no hot water, so we immediately turned the boilers back on. We apologise for not noticing earlier that the boilers had turned off. If we had noticed this immediately, this problem would not have arisen.Naturally, we find this very unfortunate and would therefore like to offer you compensation of 50.00.We hope this is a suitable solution for you. We had a room next to the parking lot, in the morning there was a pickup of a large group. The bus was running in stationary for I don't know how long. Sauna was moved from inside the hotel to outside, but signs where still refering to the old sauna, "10a.m. - 10p.m." a sign next to the closed door said. The sauna lacked a infrared, Turkish steambath and a whirlpool. Lunch was mediocre, barley done fries, dry meat (saté). But all in all, dispite the previously mentioned points a great stay in a 'hip' and clean hotel with friendly staff.

Nice gardens, good facilities. Limited menu choice in the restaurant. I had a meeting in the other van der valk in Apeldoorn the menu was very different.

Lovely village hotel/restaurant.
Been here many times. Recent visit we were in a renovated room. Found it quite dark, bottom sheets on beds not made prooerly and just about covered bed. TV had a mind of its own, either wouldn't come on or turned itself on in the night. Air conditioning/ heating instructions didn't match pictures on instruction sheet next to it. No bath/shower slip mats available and no safe in room even though there should have been.

Nice hotel wanted to stay longer
Lovely hotel in convenient location currently under some renovation . Huge room with huge bathroom equipped for wheelchair access.

Nice quiet hotel
Very clean hotel with an excellent buffet. The room is very clean and feels clean. Room is a little too dark and you cannot comfortably sit and read on a cloudy day. Rain shower works very well. The room temperature is set to 20.5 but will not adjust upwards if you want the room to be warm.

Perfect journey break point in pleasant surroundin
We used here as a break in our Journey from central Sweden before going on to the free the next day. After the hustle of the German Autobahn you come to a surprisingly quiet, just off the motorway hotel in rural surroundings. the staff are all polite & helpful and both they and the hotel were clean & well presented. Dinner in the a la carte restaurant was fresh and filling as was breakfast in the buffet. Overall a great stop (for the second year running).

Fantastic road restaurant.
I had accompanied a friend for her fathers funeral. It was also my birthday. The hotel left me a bottle of wine and two glasses in my room and also produced a free dessert with a sparkler in it at the end of my evening meal. Very impressed and delighted.

Convenient for Apledoorn
One night stay on business. Room was clean and warm, coffee and TV with BBC One. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. No complaints, would recommend.

Interesting nature and bicycle combination
Old-style Van der Valk that has accumulated a couple of years. Ideal for biking in the close-by national park area. Friendly reception. Bathroom is way too small, think 2 star size.Central ventilation makes constant nightly noise, intermittently quite noisy if your room is close to the source. You can rent horses.

Convenient and pleasant hotel (larger than expected) with ample parking and facilities. Rooms are clean and modern, family rooms are very spacious. Food okay, although it's best to reserve a table for buffet or a la carte. Overall, did the job nicely.

Pity it was only a one night stop over
The hotel had everything we needed .Close to the motorway but no intrusive noise,Clean modern rooms with all the facilities ,Great food served in a well appointed restaurant and a fantastic breakfast buffet. Sadly we were only stopping for one night - next time it will be for longer

Good location for cycling or walking trips.
Overall the general feel was dark and very dated. The room was nice but extremely dark. Even the cleaning staff complained that it was difficult to see properly when cleaning. Dining room dated and dark..perhaps cosy in winter but in summer it was depressing. Bedding too hot for summer and pillows awful.

Hotel very clean and comfortable. The only negative point is that the restaurant gets extremely busy which means that the speed of service can be a little poor at times. Other than that a very pleasant stay.
