"Ideal for families with young children"
This was a great hotel apartment with excellent facilities, particularly those travelling with young children. The apartment had a modern kitchen, huge dining/living area, bedroom for the kids with their own toilet/shower and a master on-suite bedroom. Plus a decent balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were on the whole friendly and spoke good English. The facilities were very good, with plenty of sunbeds around the pool and an indoor heated pool for young children

"Excellent family friendly hotel"
Went with my 3 year old and had an amazing time, didn't want to leave! Everyone was so lovely to us! We did have ants in our room but apart from that it was perfect!

"Superb fun hotel"
Brilliant hotel, great fun for the kids, staff on whole are great but there are one or two elements of finesse that make this hotel a great 5 star but not outstanding. If you want a brilliant family holiday then pick the Vidamar - pool area, beach, activities, sushi restaurant are amazing. Range of restaurants are good as well as value for money. Rooms always clean and very modern; beds/shower very good. Staff incredibly friendly. There are some parts of their service which could be improved.

"Excellent family hotel with awesome swimming pools"
Stayed August 2015 for a week in a one bed apartment, half board (2 adults, 2 kids). We are definitely considering returning. Room was large and well equipped. Our dishwasher was faulty, but replaced with a new one within a few hours of reporting it. We were on the top floor, with great views, but a hazardous balcony for young children. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Although the buffet appears small, there is actually more choice than you realise and you can still order from the menu if there isn't anything you like. The themed menus (offered on 5 of the 7 nights) included a carafe of house wine for free or soft drinks for kids. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, the fresh fruit was delicious. It is hard to criticise, but the evening buffet could do with either more staff serving on the buffet or self service, as unnecessary short queues often formed as it was slower than it needed to be. The evening desserts were great. My only issue with the hotel is charges, we received a list of charges (in a sealed envelope) on arrival so these were not explained. But these charges did not appear relevant (housekeeping was provided every day, but on the charges it was listed a twice a week and daily was at a cost). The hotel is a mix of timeshare, self catering and half board, so it is confusing to what is free and what is at a cost. We could have asked, but didn't want to waste time at reception detailing over costs. Overall a great holiday!

"Hotel very nice but spread out."
Hotel great and better than 5star although very spread out and requires lots of walking. Lovely large room but well away from main building. Delicious food but set 4 course menu. Staff lovely and friendly. Lots of families so quite noisy. Tennis courts in need of repair.

"Lovely small resort but better if you have a car"
Our room was described as a family suite but was in fact a huge and very smart apartment on two floors with two ensuite bathrooms, two bedrooms, really comfortable beds and everything you could want. We added breakfast to our rate for a very small supplement and it was magnificent.

"Beautiful hotel with excellent facilities"
The hotel met all our expectations - we stayed in one of the old style rooms with terracotta floor and tiles bathroom. Beautiful and clean; comfy, enormous beds and proper pillows. We found the pool restaurant food excellent and the staff were polite and helpful. Would love to return.

"Peaceful location"
Lovely villa and setting. On a hill so very windy though. Need a car. Algarve is beautiful, lots to see. We only ate at The Italian restaurant once, it was the dearest meal we had during the week. Restaurants in Salema (2 we tried) were good value, clean and very good food. We also ate at a restaurant in Lagos and a morning snack in Alvor but other than that we self catered.

"Family Beach Holiday"
We are a family of 5, with children aged 10,13 and 16. The hotel was a short trip from the airport and in a quiet road close to the beach. The location was excellent with a short walk through the woods to the beach. The hotel has well appointed large rooms. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which had two bathrooms and a living room and kitchen with a large balcony. The hotel is very clean and well organised - the staff were excellent. The swimming pool is very nice and we had a few days when we stayed at the hotel - it was very hot mid 30's for the whole two weeks. The only drawbacks were that taxis were expensive and if you want to do trips out etc you need to travel to Vilamoura which is about 35mins away (35 euros in a cab). We should have booked a hire car. Food in the hotel was expensive and a bit plain but the breakfast was excellent. We will stay there again!
