"Lovely accommodation close to Praia da Oura beach."
This is a relatively small Apartment complex close to the beach in Praia da Oura.
The staff were very helpful on our arrival, and had our apartment ready within 30 minutes, despite us arriving much earlier than official check-in. The accommodation, in a Superior Apartment, was very clean and spacious, and we enjoyed our 4 night stay very much.
The pool at the complex is quite small, but popular with guests, and the Poolside Bar offered a variety of snacks, and a popular Happy Hour between 4.00pm to 7:00pm each day.
This was our first visit to Portugal, and we were that impressed with the Apartments and the local area, that we are already planning to return.
The only downside could be for people with mobility problems, as the complex is located part way down a very steep hill from the Strip to the beach. It wasn't an issue for us, but could well be for others.

The accomadation is fantastic, our 3 bed apartment was huge, 3 bathrooms. several balconies which was good for us as there was 6 of us, 4 kids, youngest 4 and oldest 19 so we had plenty of space. We decided not to hire a car but that was a big mistake, as there is basically nothing close by. The marine is lovely but not really much to do once you have used the bowling alley, carting. We walked or got taxis into the old town which is lovely, apart from constantly being hounded to spend your money on over priced food and drink. Great weather, also the accomodation does offer a free shuttle bus in the week to take you to Lidl for shopping, a lovely beach or the centre which is the old town.
The location was great if you have a few days to explore all on foot. The beach, marine and town are all with in walking distance in opposite directions. The hotel itself was a nice place to stay with a spacious apartment and pleasant staff.
Don't forget your swimming cap if you want to use the pool as they charge €5 to buy one at the hotel which will add up you have a family.
We had a great time at Vilarosa. Nice and clean and great reception staff, Nuna was especially helpful. Always got beds around the pool and on the whole it was nice and quiet. Hotel bar is a little expensive compared to the rest of the town and we found the beds uncomfortable and pillows were less than useless but apart from that no complaints. The main restaurants and bars are only a 10 min stroll and they are all excellent.
We have been going here since before the kids were teenagers and they have now left home - but still want to come with us if Dad is paying! Apartments are spacious and well furnished - even with a roof terrace again this year - and there is plenty to do, both at Rocha Brava and close by. Restaurants good too and within walking distance - and when the sun is out what is there not to like?
We had a lovely time. The facilities are excellent with good pools, tennis court and football area. It is a good walk to the marina, but not too far to be unpleasant. The room was spacious if a little dated. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
