A fairly cheap beachfront hotel off the main drag within great grounds with easy access to local shops etc. I'd describe the "studios" as chalets and a "double" bed (mine had two small iron-frame singles pushed together) takes up most of the living space. Terraces are small but enough for two, but sharing a chalet will produce cabin fever pretty quickly.
Decoration / furniture is basic and could perhaps do with modernisation but a full kitchen / supplied iron etc / free internet gives you options and helps with long stays.
The hotel is set out on terraces - much better than the tower blocks elsewhere - and depending on location your rooms / outside area will catch the sun for most of the day. Great if you want to sunbathe, swim, eat, and drink and not much else, so don't come here if you're looking for more!
Off-peak stays are good value and also provide the bonus of fewer people - I can't imagine I'd enjoy the hotel at full capacity however as walls are thin, studios are tightly packed and privacy on your terrace would be affected by the passing foot traffic.
Staff are friendly and helpful but don't turn cleaners away - they might not appear again for a few days.
I've stayed twice and would definitely visit again.
A decent walk from the marina, in a reasonably quiet location. This development provides good clean accommodation where we have opted to stay several times. It is great value for a base close enough to it all. We go back soon. We've chosen an upgrade, it's winter.
As with all of this style of build, you may hear noisy neighbours. That's not fun. But overall, it's hard to find much to complain about at these prices.
We had a great time at Vilarosa. Nice and clean and great reception staff, Nuna was especially helpful. Always got beds around the pool and on the whole it was nice and quiet. Hotel bar is a little expensive compared to the rest of the town and we found the beds uncomfortable and pillows were less than useless but apart from that no complaints. The main restaurants and bars are only a 10 min stroll and they are all excellent.
Good restaurant but pricey - small bar area. Front office staff and maid service excellent. Out of the main holiday season most of the local shops and restaurants were closed. They reopen Jan/Feb. There are small super markets quite close by - but for a major shop you need to go to the big supermarkets which will cost you 7/8 euros by taxi each way. There is no shop on site which would be a bonus just for the basics. A small issue but sun beds need replacing - or at least given a really good clean.
The one bedroom apartment was extremely spacious and comfortable. I originally booked 2 nights at the vista marina but decided to stay another night because of the reasonable price and comfortable accommodation. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for reasonably priced rooms in the algarve.
The hotel has convenient underground parking and is a 3 minute drive to a big continente grocery (if you want to prepare food in the apartment).
