Relaxing stay

Loved sitting in the screened in area playing cards and listening to the loons. Great view and the teenagers lived the paddle boat.Very clean and close to town.

Property was perfect for our stay. If you like getting away from the city, this is the place. Beautiful rural setting with large yard and gorgeous lake. We saw loons, an eagle, Canada geese, Blue Jays, Robins, orioles and other birds. We enjoyed the quiet peaceful surroundings every morning and evening on the screened porch. The property is well kept, clean and had everything we needed. Our hosts were great and accommodating. We made memories to last a life time. I hope to return again in the future.

Enjoyed our stay! The porch was so nice with the weather not being great at times. The lake has more of a muddy bottom and lots of weeds, so I wouldn’t recommend swimming, but was great to fish off the dock. Unfortunately, the neighbors were playing music extremely loud until about 1am (you can hear it well even when inside the cabin). Two of the beds need upgrading - the middle bed makes a lot of sound when even sitting or attempting to roll over - definitely would wake another person up in the bed. The bed in the master felt almost like a water bed, if one person moves, the other definitely feels it. Third bed was just fine! One thing I’d add to the master bedroom are curtains on the two windows on the sides of the bed - we were woken up by 5am every morning from how bright it was in the room. The layout was wonderful! The living room was much bigger and comfortable for everyone to sit in. There are yard games and games provided as well, which were a nice touch. Everything we needed in the kitchen was supplied. Very responsive as well!

A very beautiful park

The property is very beautiful the pictures don’t do it justice. The grandkids loved the lake and made good use of it. The screened in back porch has a great barbecue and a nice table. Perfect setting for eating outside. Gary and Sandy are excellent host.

Latimer Lake

Absolutely huge gorgeous property! The cabin was perfect and had everything. Fishing was good. Swimming was okay but does get weedy at about 3 feet. There is a really nice beach very close by. We loved our stay and hope to be back next year!

Great place!!!

Loved our long weekend at this cabin. The yard is huge for games and lounging. Firepit was great with lots of wood! Cabin was just what we needed with a 3 season porch for the rain we had. I will definitely stay here again!

My sons caught several small fish off the dock. We were also able to use a small pontoon to fish but they weren't biting. We had a problem with one of theshowers and property owner fixed it while we were there. Property needs hand rails on both stairways.Property was very clean and just the right size for 5 people.Enjoyed our week.

Lake Latimer VRBO

This was a very nice property and all amenities promised were available. It wasn't fancy but it didn't need to be, we had everything we needed. Unfortunately the next door neighbors were having a family reunion the weekend of our stay and they chose to play their music extremely loud, which at times made it hard to even talk among our own party especially when we were outside or on the porch. We did have some trouble with sticky doorknobs, and unfortunately a doorknob malfunctioned and the mechanism inside the doorknob broke trapping two of our party in a bedroom. We were able to get them out but not without dismantling the whole doorknob setup. We loved having the porch available for meals and as a place to socialize. The lake swimming was nice and it was great to have the sand for the kids to play in. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Gary was a great host!

Fun and relaxing!

We enjoyed our 3 night here. We fished off the docks. And kayaked on the lake. The home isn't fancy, but we were looking for a place to fish and hang out and that's what this property provided. Gary is a great host, answered all our questions and made us feel very welcome. The two things we would like to have had are railings on the stairs, and night lights in the bathrooms. Next time we will stay an entire week.

Not worth the money

Cons: We found a used needle outside of the house upon arrival and didn't get a response when I texted a picture to the owner. Inside the house smelled like smoke. The sink in the master bath didn't drain well and the water smelled. The AC didn't work too well once the house was hot - if we turned it on in the morning and ran throughout the day then it was fine Would not recommend or return, and is not worth the price tag. Pros: The view of the lake was nice and the grounds were flat, which was great for enjoying outside. The screened in porch was enjoyable. The fishing was good. The beds were comfortable.

Relaxing stay at peaceful lake house

We had a relaxing week-end at this peaceful lake house. We especially enjoyed kayaking and fishing from the pier. I brought swim shoes so I could wade out from the shore where it was silty, and had a nice swim in the lake. The house was clean, and Gary was very helpful and quick at responding to my questions. It's about 2 hours from Minneapolis - a little farther than it looks on the map before you get the actual address. Definitely worth the drive!

Long Prairie Stay

The space worked fine for us since it was the two of us. Since the second and third bedrooms do not have A/C it would have been difficult to us those rooms, we just kept the doors shut to concentrate the A/C in the master bedroom and living rooms space. The fans were very helpful since we stayed through a "heat wave".

We rested in this house with great pleasure. The property was great, large and clean. The house is lovely too. The house has everything you need for living. A beautiful lake with a lot of fish. We watched the sunrise every morning while fishing, and in the evenings we sat by the fire and watched the sunset. The neighbors didn't bother us, we didn't even see them. A very quiet place. Super Relaxing!

We rented this cabin last minute, we just wanted to get away from the hustle bustle… we succeeded! The home has a portable AC unit in the loving room, it kept the LR and kitchen cool, there was also an AC in the master bedrooom, along with an industrial fan to push the cool air down the hall to the bedroom areas. The cabin also has a great screened area off of the deck with an entrance to the living room. The lot is huge if you like to play yard games with the family. We didn’t out the boat in the water because there wasn’t a lift and there were quite a few weeds (didn’t want to get them caught up in the prop). We had a very relaxing time!
