It's nice and private, yet 20 minutes from a good size town in case you need something or forget something. Always a nice and relaxing atmosphere ,we would highly recommend to anyone that just wants to get away and enjoy time with their spouse. The courtyard is beautiful with the waterfall in the fire pit the hot tub is just spectacular and always enjoyable. We found this incredible rental house on VRBO that was named the "Stockton Lake Retreat" house by the owners. It truly was a retreat... with every detail being very modern with fancy features everywhere you looked. It had a rock formation water fountain, a propane fire pit, a hot tub, a rainfall shower, a small beautiful kitchen area, and was just minutes away from the Stockton Lake state park. Private and intimate. Plush and perfect! We sat outside and star gazed during the evenings. They provide everything you need and checkout was super easy - just send a text to the owner when you leave. It is small, so it isn't intended for a large family, but ideal for a romantic getaway, a small family or two couples trying to escape the city for a while. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for comfort peace and quiet and quite a bit of stargazing. The property is as represented in the photos. In fact we look forward to going back again.
