The property was beautiful and well maintained. The event center was a life saver when it came to occupying children in between fishing and kayaking. The house itself was great but there were a few things missing. Hand towels and rags were provided but not bath towels so make sure you bring those and there’s plenty of kitchen utensils but no oven mitts. Luckily if you forget anything there is a dollar general just up the road. There is also a small marina just down the road as well that rents pontoon boats for under 300\. We were able to easily book the bear cabin last minute. The cabin was tidy and well equipped for cooking. It was very close to Guntersville State park - where we were able to hike during the days. I can say I stayed in a tiny house at least once. I guess it was our age(60ish), the sofa and chair wasn't comfortable. The water for sinks and shower, we had to run for 20mins to heat up. Cabin was perfect for us & 2 grands, ages 7&10\. They loved having their own space in the loft! The recreation center was a hit and a perfect place to be on the hot summer afternoons! This was their first time kayaking and they both loved it. The kayaks could have been in better shape though. Self serve store was convenient, as well as the hot tub area.
