The Shiloh Place

Big spacious beautiful two-story home in a quiet setting. A great quiet peaceful neighborhood in Albany Georgia. The house offers four separate bedrooms.

Each bedroom offers the comfort of a Posturepedic mattress with high-quality bed sheets and furniture.

Modern and new appliances in the kitchen including refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, pots and pans, flatware, and silverware.

Family Room: Big and spacious with two 55-inch TVs and a bar (you stock).

No Parties, No Pets, No Smoking or Vaping (ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY), No FIRES IN FIREPLACE, Report Damages. If smoke is detected cleaning fee will be charged. Children underage need to be supervised by adults at all times.

- Please note that occupancy is enforced, guests that are not listed on the reservation will not be allowed on the premises.

  • Joseph Winthrop Holley, born in 1874 to former slaves in Winnsboro, South Carolina, founded the institution in 1903 as the Albany Bible and Manual Training Institute. W. E. B. Du Bois inspired Holley to return to the South after he read Du Bois's writings on the plight of Albany's blacks in The Souls of Black Folk. Holley relocated to Albany to start a school. With the help of a $2,600 gift from the Hazard family, Holley organized a board of trustees and purchased 50 acres (200,000 m2) of land for the campus, all within a year. The aim of the institution at the time was to provide elementary education and teacher training for the local Black population. It was turned over to the state of Georgia in 1917 as Georgia Normal and Agricultural College, a two-year agricultural and teacher-training institution. In 1932, the school became part of the University System of Georgia and in 1943 it was granted four-year status and renamed Albany State College. The transition to four-year status heavily increased the school's enrollment. In 1981 the college offered its first graduate program, a prelude to the school being upgraded to university status in 1996.

Good for work

We were in town on a work project. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and we really liked the bar/den are to congregatej. The house is several miles out of town, but the neighborhood was quiet.

Great Place

If you are staying in the Albany area, Shiloh Place is where you want to stay! Large house in a quiet neighborhood, this place has spacious rooms a large entertainment area with multiple large screen TV’s, an enclosed back porch with tables that can seat everyone. A large fenced in back yard and plenty of parking. We are coming back in a few weeks to finish a job we started in the area and I will be scheduling it around when Shiloh Place is available so we can stay there again!

Hidden Gem in Albany

Absolutely amazing property and in great condition. Beautiful upgrades throughout the home. Huge Yard and landscaping was impeccable. The owner was super responsive with answers to questions. There was a beautiful welcome basket there for us when we arrived. Will definitely be our go to when visiting Albany.

Charles, Thank you for letting our family enjoy your beautiful home. It was as described. We appreciated all the new furniture and the cleanliness of the home.
