I ALWAYS stay here since my flights from the west coast always arrive late night. There is a complimentary 24 hr shuttle to & from Albany International Airport upon calling the hotel & it’s only 5 min down the street. It’s very clean, spacious, convenient, pretty,& quiet. There is a cool looking courtyard in the center of the hotel to hold events,& there has only been one instance years ago, that I had stayed and some event was going on. At that time the staff was noisy while setting up early morning. Since then Ive made mention of it upon checking in and they have accommodated me by placing me in a different area. Not a huge ask. It is one of the nicest hotels in the area & Ill continue to stay. I strongly recommend it to everyone coming into Albany area.

Restaurant service is slow food is average for the cost. We had "reserved" a king bed room but was given a queen bed room with no accommodation for the switch which left us having to use the pullout sofa bed thats beyond awful. Next time we take the kids out for a pool night ill use a different hotel. Since IGH bought this hotel the "updated" renovations wreck the classic charm of this longtime area hotel.

Excellent guest service. Changed linens on sofa bed while we went to dinner as they had a coffee stain on them. Very efficient and helpful.

The interior courtyard is stunning with the indoor fish pond and brownstone building courtyard. We had a balcony overlooking the courtyard which was beautifully kept. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The coffee and tea set up in the lobby in sitting area is very cozy. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Staff was wonderful. Food was surprisingly good for a hotel. It's a very busy hotel with a lot of convensions going on which was a little off putting. Convenient to the airport.

My husband and I stayed at the Desmond for 1 night, we loved everything but the refrigerator was a little tricky to find, it blended in with the furniture and also we had to purchase a bottle water, usually at other hotels we have been to 1 bottle or water is complimentary.

Lots of space options for mtgs and events. Not a fan of a room facing the inside courtyard. But love the fountain for aesthetics and sound dulling. Restaurant was good but not many GF options. Friendly staff.

Second time I stayed here, the staff in the bar are the best. It’s Albany you come here to drink, not much else around. I will stay here again and will be at the bar every night again

Love this place so much I joined their points club. Great staff and service. Free shuttle and Joe the driver even cleared the snow off my car! Great restaurant on site.

I only stayed there for two nights. I had an appointment at the Immigration very early in the morning. As a matter of fact, I was approved for citizenship. Then I stayed another night. Everything was just great: the service, the staff, etc. I would certainly go back there again.

Shuttle issues
beautiful property , room spacious and clean , friendly front desk but they offer shuttle transportation to the airport and long stay parking at the property but in my opinion they dont have the system well set up , so the "shuttle" have no hotels signs so is very hard to find out where is it is once you are outside the airport and the "small dark SUV " is not enough , to make the story short we end it up having a taxi to bring us back to the hotel where our car was parked

Very clean and convenient location. Staff was very friendly and the room was in excellent condition, modern and clean. The only thing I found odd was apparently they charge you $20 if you want to heat something up in a microwave. Seems a bit excessive. Other than that the stay was worth what I paid.
