Pros: Convenient to location site related to why in Albany, stores, sites....
Cons: temperature controls
Location: mountains.....great places to eat....
A minor difficulty in keeping room temperature within comfortable range. I get cold easy.....so not so much a problem for most who stay.... The weather was gorgeous outside most days....rainy one....so would wonder if very cold outside.

Pleasant Hotel near University Campus

One of the best kept Days Inns that I have stayed at. Pleasant surroundings and nearby restaurants.

Room was lacking

Posted 27-Aug-2016
Pros: Price and location. Enough parking. Close to a good restaurant that was recommended by the receptionist when we checked in.
Cons: Put shelves in the bathroom for toiletries. Put something in the bath tub for soap, shampoo & conditioner. Replace shower curtain in Room 102 - stinky
Location: Close to a movie theater/s. Close to a mall/s. Close to the highway. Outside of Downtown Albany is about 10-min drive. Colonie Center Mall is nice.
Staff that we interacted with were friendly and courteous. Check in and check out were easy and quick. We were missing the TV remote and it was provided immediately upon request. Breakfast provided was ok. Bagel, bread, oatmeal, coffee, juice, hot chocolate, microwaveable omelet. Whole room was spacious and looked clean. There was a coffeemaker, fridge, 4 drawers for clothes under the TV and there were bars in one corner for hanging clothes. Also an iron and ironing board. Room was quiet even though we were on the ground floor and close to the parking area. Minor noise. There was a strong musty smell upon entering the room, probably from the bathroom, I think it's the shower curtain. Sprayed with air freshener several times with little or no improvement. There was no place to put any toiletries in the bathroom, not even a toilet seat cover so can't place anything on top of the tank - I put one item on top of the tank and it fell inside the toilet bowl. Can't put anything on the sink either because it's slanted, even the soap falls in. A couple of hanging shelves would have been sufficient. Only bars for towels were provided. No place to put soap and shampoo/conditioner in the tub. Very inconvenient. :-( The room was very spacious but it could have used 2 side tables, one on each side of the bed, only 1 was provided. I used the chair to put personal items such as eyeglasses, water, tablet & phone near my side of the bed. There was a table for writing and for the laptop.

The hotel room was nice, but pricey for no pool.

I paid more than planned and they had no extras like pool, jacuzzi etc. Other area hotels did offer these at 20.00 lower cost.

Not bad, but not great either.

Pros: Breakfast was very good! Love the free internet and parking!
Cons: Staff could have been better. Rooms need updating and aired out regularly.
Location: Restaurants and a mall nearby. Close to the highway
Showed up around 2:15am from a long drive. I had called ahead to let them know we would be arriving after midnight. When we showed up there was no one at the front counter or anywhere to be seen. We called out and explored the halls, but did not find anyone. It was at least 20 minutes until someone came out. It was a lady and she looked stoned or high. Not sure where she was hiding, but we were a few minutes away from walking to another hotel in the area. She was not welcoming and barely spoke to me. I understand she was working the night shift, but I just drove 8 hours and you're the first person I've spoken to, please have some professionalism. Room was fine, smelled really bad but we turn on the fan/AC and it was better. Beds were fine, clean, no bugs. Pillows were tiny and not full size. Shower was good, but not enough towels.

Pros: The staff was very friendly
I was not happy with the smell in the room, a lot of noise outside of the room and no mini fridge in the room.

Decent hotel. Easy drive to Cooperstown Disappointed in hotel staff. Both nights we were there, a LOUD noise woke up several rooms in the middle of the night. One employee wanted me to tell her what was making the noise. The next employee never called me back to see if maintenance could check whatever equipment was in or around our While we were out so this wouldn't happen a 2nd time. The 3rd employee never got the manager to call me

Old, outdated. Funky smell. Uncomfortable, felt grossed out the entire time in the room.
