Convenient moderately priced hotel

Posted 20-Aug-2015
We were looking for a one night stopover on route. We initially chose this hotel because it was close to the highway and not expensive. The rooms were good sized, with good internet and more modern televisions than many higher priced hotels. The staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting suitable nearby places to eat and shop. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in this area.

Hotel close to albany

Posted 9-Aug-2015
The construction and continual parking of large trucks on western right at the parking lot entrence added adventure to my day, everyday. The staff and breakfast sucks. At the front desk I waited for over 5 minutes while listening about someone's boyfriend from their back room. Finally, they heard me clear my throat. The rooms are ok , and I didn't notice any pet smells like I had read reviews about. The food is generic cereal, microwaveable eggs with some kind of cheese, and some bagels. Rooms are not sound proof at all, but comfortable. Mine had a good size bathroom and room, with easy parking lot access. The parking area was large. Overall, I'd probably go back. The price was cheap and the bed warm.

Very close to SUNY Albany

Posted 3-Aug-2015
Pros: close to college
Cons: yes bottles of body lotion and mouth wash should be in every room. and clean towels in the gym.
hotel was ok staff was very nice and helpful but then amenities were not good. I went to the gym and there were no towels. There was a place for dirty towels but no clean towels .I did like that the was a water cooler and cups. In my room there were no bottles of anything but shampoo and conditioner. no body conditioner or mouth wash.I did ask the front staff about body lotion and he offered me a squirt of lotion from a big bottle. Shocking.

Cons: The breakfast was extremely minimal.
It was a last minute booking for me and I was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff. My room was clean, and quiet.

Hotel was just ok. Very uncomfortable bed. Not much selection for breakfast. In fact we opted not to eat there.

The hotel is downtown therefore expensive. Unfortunately my room was stinky. I believe that some chemical were used to hide the smell of tobacco in the room. I had to wash all my clothes afterwards to get rid of the smell. The room could have been cleaner as well: although the furniture and room are fine, they could definitely be cleaner. I did not dare use their coffee machine for the same reason.

close to UAlbany. ok for one night.

Posted 23-Jul-2015
Pros: Proximity to UAlbany
Cons: The breakfast area/ selection
Location: Across the street from UA. Close to Wolf Rd. and it's many restaurants, Colonie Mall, Crossgates Mall. Dunkin Donuts is attached to the hotel.
we stayed here 2 night for UAlbany orientation. The room was spacious enough. The room/bathroom was clean (my main concern.) My only complaint would be the breakfast. No biggie. Ok for when you don't want to spend a lot of money. Not a good choice for picky people.

Would Not Recommend

Posted 21-Jul-2015
Pros: nothing, other than it was close to where I needed to be
Cons: everything
I booked somewhat last minute so didn't spend much time searching. There were no other rooms available in the hotel, so couldn't switch. The room smelled terrible (some sort of commercial air freshener I would guess?), the walls and carpet were dirty and the wall covering was bubbled and peeling. The sheets had some stains, the blanket had a burn hole and stains and the bedspread seemed really quite old. My daughter and took off the blanket and bedspread and slept (not much) on top of the sheets. Couldn't get out of there fast enough next day. I should have said something at check-out but I didn't. Hopefully, the owners will work to improve the property.

Budget priced hotel but all in all, a good value

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: Good location and value for the price.
Cons: Completion of renovations.
Location: @ minutes off of 87 and near restaurants, shopping malls and SUNY
Hotel was undergoing renovations so breakfast was iffy. The manager was very apologetic and tried to help in any way possible. Room was comfortable and spacious. I will stay here again in the near future.
