Last time at Mercure
Hotel is nice. If it wasn't for the issue I've encountered at 11PM at my arrival, I would have said it was perfect. I was attributed a room that was already occupied by someone! Can I just remind that this was in Saudi Arabia? What if I had opened the room and it was a family? When I opened the room, I was face to face with one person, in his bed and ready to sleep (he was actually smoking his last cig of the day perhaps). Oh yes, I forgot to mention that...Although I had requested a non-smoking room, the hotel was not able to offer me this! They gave me a "new room" that had only a "light smell". Thank you Mercure but never again.

Hotel moderne mais relativement sale (moquette tachée, vitres pas lavées, etc.). Ca reste néammoins acceptable pour le pays, mais loin des standards 4* ou 5*.

Good to some extent
Overall is good; however, it would have been better, if they had provided us with child bed as requested online and through the front desk several time. I don’t want to say careless team, but they might be busy or so. The room service was so poor as we are family of four members and they provide us with only one towel, toothbrush, etc.. The room itself was so dusty when we entered first time then later they cleaned well.

Not a 5 star hotel
I do not usually give negative feedback but my stay at this hotel was absolutely horrible. I wouldnt cosider this a 5 star hotel at all. The furniture was old and the condition was really bad. The hotel floors were full of dust. The room was smelly and dusty. The toilet was full of fungus and black spots.

Expensive and cold food.
My go to hotel when working in Khobar but not anymore. The check in staff were polite but so slow. I always request a non smoking quiet room... So was annoyed to get to room opposite the lifts and next to screaming family... And stunk of smoke. The room was changed but I should not have been given it in first place. This was probably my 12th stay... Dinner.. Expensive and buffet style. Very cold food. When I complained the waiter turned up the burners and I was told it was me who felt cold so I felt the food was cold... What! Check out was as always very very slow and considering I was the only person there, there was no excuse. Very disappointed and won't be returning.

Mercure - needs improvement
Hotel is looking in need of a refurbishment, carpets & furniture getting worn. My room didn't get cleaned after my first night - it took over an hour for the hotel to decide I did have a reservation and finally cleaned the room. Not great after a long day and an early start the next morning.

Mercure in Al Khobar
The hotel has a good range of facilities, with comfortable beds. I was upgraded to a suite at the hotel which was well equipped. The furniture is starting to look a little tired. The room service offered a good range of food and service was pretty quick.
