I think the Hotels.com information needs to be updated we did rent this beacuse of the private beach wording. But the inside was clean and comfortable and had the glamor and elegance of a by-gone era. You could tell it was a grand apartment in its day. Our apartment was clean and very large (we rented a regular 2-bedroom, not the executive one). The kitchen was well-appointed and clean and also large. THe pool is newly painted and well-maintained with a great view - they must have cleaned it up recently, given the prior reviews. We were very happy with our stay - when we arrived, we were automatically upgraded to the Super-Deluxe Suit... it was basic furniture, but very large room and two clean washrooms. One room had a king size bed, the other had two single beds - we requested that they push them together but they didn\`t do that great of a job.
