This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window! We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions. Tidal House is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point. During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet. Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window! This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex, which means you will have a neighboring wall. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via a digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time. Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit. Expecting visitors? Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units. STEEP STAIRCASE Please note that the staircase in this unit is very steep. Guests must use the handrail when going up the stairs. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT Please be aware that the open concept loft sleeping area is on the 2nd floor. This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals. The chalet includes one king bed upstairs. Additionally, we have a queen-sized sofa bed on the first floor. KITCHEN The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, a microwave, and a medium-sized refrigerator + freezer. Guests are required to wash all dishes they use, as there is not a dishwasher. DUPLEX Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest. The beach is within easy walking distance. If you'd prefer to drive to the beach, it's about a one minute drive to the main beach access road on W Chance A La Mer NW. There is free parking just before the beach with public restrooms or, during most of the year, driving and parking on the beach is allowed. Yes, you read that right: You can drive on the beach! If you choose to drive on the beach, be cautious. Be sure to stay out of the soft stand and plan for the tides if you plan to leave your vehicle unattended for awhile. Getting your vehicle stuck in the sand and/or water is never fun! Taxi service is available and there is also a nearby bike rental store. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs. NO PARTIES We ask that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours being at 10 PM and go through 8 AM. FIRES We currently do not allow bonfires on the property. SAND We also suggest removing shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet. ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging is 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. DAMAGE Any damage caused during your stay will be charged to you. Smoking of any kind (including vaping) is not allowed inside the chalets. The pillows smelled musty, the bathtub was disgusting with tons of mold, and there were several bugs. Booked this place because of the good reviews, but they are definitely suspect. The host reached out to me outside of the platform asking for a good review saying, “we’d appreciate 5-star review from you. If there’s anything holding you back from leaving a 5 star review, please let us know and we would be happy to work to rectify this for you prior to leaving a review”.Petty talking points:-one cheap night stand next to the king sized bed…-where are the outlets upstairs?-uncomfortable couch-why so many dead bugs?-why is there a sign about the broken fire place? Fix it or block it off.-hair in the bathroom (not mine)-don’t look under the mattress cover if you want to have a good time.Not sure if they were compensating unhappy people, but my experience was not indicative of what the reviews said. TLDR: This place could use some love and cleaning. There was a large yellow stain on it tho we noticed night number two so unsure if it was cleaned prior to us sleeping. The bathtub drain takes 20 minutes to draining making showers longer due to having to drain in order to wash the ocean water off your feet. Otherwise water pressure was great! The tv internet was touch and go but that’s ok. The path to the ocean was no longer existent. We found that out by some frequent flyers who also couldn’t find the trail that was there a year prior. No worries tho we just walked a few blocks to the entrance. We still had a blast and will be back. Just a few things to work on. ##### KRISTEN S. Good location to the activity centers. Also a good base to explore the area. Took a few hours one day and drove North passed Moclips to the end and back. Another day we drove around to Westport and then another day trip to Long Beach/ Cape Disappointment, then to Astoria for dinner and back. About a 2 hour drive each way. Lots a good places to eat as well. The property is a bit dark at night, easy parking at the unit with some overflow. Bed upstairs, stairs a bit steep but not bad with a sturdy handrail. Fireplace is decommissioned so no fires, not a problem for us just a FYI. Quiet units, duplex back to back each building (2 units each -5 buildings) continue to upgrade, one duplex was getting new power line in with upgrade. Clean and apparently that allow dogs but no smell that we noticed. Didn't need the blackout curtain upstairs at night in the winter only source of light on summer would be setting sun.... Black out curtains in loft dodnt cover the rail provided. Flooring uneven in bathroom. Bed was incredibly uncomfortable...very hard and we barely slept. I wound up sleeping on the couch. Neighbor appears to be doing construction on property beside so our view was a kubota tractor :( For the cost per night do yourself a favor and find another place. The treats left for both people and pets were so thoughtful! The beach was a short walk away, with plenty for my pup to discover along the way. It was peaceful & quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Other than initially having trouble unlocking the door(purely operator error, lol), I couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a relaxing birthday getaway. Ok for the not so good... everything seemed nice... but then I found hair in the bathtub and it was a little dirty I don't think it was cleaned before we came, and the pillowcases in the upstairs bedroom had a smell to them... Also not enough fresh towels... because of this type of stay you only get one set of clean towels I would of liked another set of cleaned towels maybe left inside some place we could get too. and last thing upstairs get a little warm during the day a screen on either the window or the door would have been great... I know this seems like a lot of negatives, but they are just the little things I noticed. It was a nice stay with a coffee & donut shop a crossed the street.
