Staff were very helpful, but the Blair restaurant let the hotel down. Also the bar had no brandy or bitter lemon.

Attended a wedding at ardoe house also spent the night, the facilities are clean, the rooms are big, clean with a firm comfy bed, only bad part about the wedding was the price of drinks most people attending the wedding also complained about the prices. breakfast was great, staff were friendly and eager to help out guests. abit out of the way from aberdeen

The building itself looked like a castle. Inside gave a regal feeling as well. Staff were professional, pleasant and informative. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our one night stay.

Very comfortable 1 night business stay in August (sticks in my mind over 6 months later, so must have been good!). Room was spacious and quiet, very quiet location and good breakfast. Happy to recommend for any type of stay.

The hotel is gorgeous and the grounds are peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed visiting the highland cows in the pasture. The photographs in the hotel were artsy and unique, taken of the hotel and animals. What a personal touch! We tried the on site restaurant, but enjoyed other local ones nearby better for lower costs. The beds were comfortable and we thought our stay was great for a reasonable price. Thank you!

Overnight stay as had a party in aberdeen. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a little disappointing. Having to cue for 1 coffee machine, also having stand to toast your bread 3 times over as the machine didn’t work properly was frustrating. There appeared to be plenty staff on, so why they couldn’t have come with pots of tea and coffee and a rack of toast I’m unsure, but would have certainly eased to congestion in the small room where all the breakfast items were set up.

Let down by breakfast
Room was great, food was great, the only disappointment was the breakfast experience and in particular the coffee. I don't mind queuing for a buffet breakfast - which was very nice and lots of choice, but info object to having to queue for coffee, one cup at a time, which you can't get at the same time as your food, and was pretty crap coffee anyway. We sat down as no one explained it was self service, then we went to get food (through two rooms) and realised you had to also take your empty tea cup with you... so we got hot food and went back to the table, had no time to go back with cup and queue at a machine for coffee because the food would have gone cold. Surely in a 4 star hotel you can be served with a cafetière or pot of tea which serves more than one cup. Six of us in our party had to keep getting up and down, through 2 rooms to queue for one cup at a time.

Terrible stay went to have a shower and was scalded.went to reception to inform them and was told they know about it as the pump was broken and was not possible to get cold water. In the middle of getting dressed in morning and maid just walked straight in with out knocking.Told reception complaints in morning but would have been better talking to the wall.

What a memoriable experience in a very comfortable and spacious room. Spacious rooms, reasonable rate and friendly staff. Would recommend this stay if in the area. Beautiful grounds and well played out walk or running trails around the property.

We enjoyed our Stay and added an extra Night and I had amended Travel plans slightly and was immediately resolved by Hotel and so Thankful and impressed by this.The Staff here are outstanding and the thoughtfulness shown to Us with a Disability was made our visit to this fabulous and unique Hotel something are so touched by Thank You to Jessica the most efficient and understanding Receptionist We have met and was there throughout most of Our Stay and same to Vicky Liam and Anne.Recommend this Hotel and Area.

Lovely property and accommodation. I slept so comfortably and had a wonderful dinner. I would recommend to anyone visiting Aberdeen and wanting a tranquil accomodation outside of downtown. I did not have time to use the spa facilities, but I am certain I would have found the amenities equally pleasing.

The hot tub was the same temperature as the pool . The bathroom was so hot as our towel rack would not turn off. The staff the first night seemed very disorganized, the second and third night the staff had been a lot better.

Everything was excellent, however the shower had clearly not been properly cleaned in awhile, had pink and black shower scum, which is easily cleaned. So that was gross. But everything else about the stay was perfect.

Great bed and nice room (albeit the furthest I have ever had to walk to get to my room!) but the service was not particularly forthcoming. No emergency toiletries which meant I had to drive into Aberdeen at 10.30pm because I had forgot my toothpaste. There was no hot water on my first morning and no explanation as to why. When I enquired, the response was very much "oh yeah, the boiler's not working. We're trying to get it reset." Breakfast was adequate but the dining room was congested. The coffee from the machine was literally undrinkable. Dinner in the bar was no better than mediocre and I was not expecting anything fancy: just decent ingredients well cooked. I stayed in the Holiday Inn at Scotch Corner the following night and the difference in service quality was very marked.

The room staff and front desk were impeccable. I would not recommend the room service dining. My partner ordered the sweet pea and chickpea curry that was supposed to come with nan bread and we got garlic toast … it was supposed to be accompanied with a cherry tomato and red onion salad which never appeared. Bring your own food if you intend to stay in for the night.

What a beautiful property, it was a pleasure to get to stay in a castle. We enjoyed the beautiful bar area, and the surrounding grounds were beautiful. Would highly recommend.
