"did not require room with disabilities "
The room was for a wheelchair user which was not needed. We only had one meal at the hotel which consisted of sandwiches and chips. We refused to pay as the food was so poor.

"Anniversary weekend stay"
Good hotel centrally located on the Royal Mile. Recently refurbished so in good order throughout. However, no robes in our room (which you would expect at a spa hotel) and an empty minibar. Other than those minor gripes it was very good.

"Good centrally placed hotel. "
Good sized room and the rooftop suite is lovely. Smaller rooms are beautifully done out and very good bathrooms with bath. Very clean. Staff are a bit monosyllabic but efficient. Bar is basic but pleasant and modern. Bar staff overcharged but to be fair they were having problems with the computer till and it was rectified by reception. Great location near the festival theatre with many good local restaurants and bars nearby and a five minute walk to the royal mile. I have stayed here a few times and would recommend it.

"New modern hotel"
New modern hotel. Friendly staff. However, the view from the room looks directly into the opposite block thus there's no view if u close the curtains. If u open it, there will be no privacy especially at night. Laundry facility is provided free of charge which is great. But with only 2 washers and 2 dryer for the whole hotel, waiting for your turn can be a turn off.

"Friendly helpful staff and excellent location."
The hotel was undergoing I some renovations but we were not bothered by noise or inconvenienced at all. The locating is perfect for anyone wanting to visit the sights along the Royal Mile as it is just a few steps to the middle of that section of town. You can easily walk (5-10 minutes) to the Haymarket area, bus and train station, city and countryside tour bus stops and both the castle and Holyrood Palace are short walks as well. Lots of restaurants and pubs are nearby for food and drink fun too.

"Excellent location and friendly staff"
We stayed here recently and were very impressed with the friendly, professional staff. We arrived late at night and were greeted with a warm welcome and a warm cookie. A very nice touch to end a long day of travel. The restaurant provides good food at an affordable price. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Whilst there was some noise from the street on the Saturday night, it is to be expected when staying in a busy city that you will encounter something like that from time to time. We'd definitely stay here again due to the service we received and the convenient location.

"Lovely hotel in the heart of Edinburgh"
We stayed at the Inn on the Mile for three nights. It is in a very busy, noisy area so if you want peace and quiet, don't stay here. I am glad, though, that we did stay here because it is one of the nicest quirky hotels we have ever been in. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The rooms are gorgeous with wonderful bathrooms. Two robes, two pairs of slippers, White Company products and tea and coffee making facilities, including Tunnock's caramel wafers! Free bottles of water and Wi-Fi. All this making for a lovely feel about the place - they were not trying to rip us off with "added extras". We will definitely return to this lovely hotel.

Pocket Guide: Edinburgh Old Town 4 stars Hotels

With narrow, winding streets and alleys, this mediaeval district is a contrast to New Town. Acting as the main artery, the Royal Mile begins at Edinburgh Castle and ends at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Royal Family’s residence. Many tourist attractions are found in Old Town including the National Galleries, Royal Museum, and St. Giles Cathedral.
