"Beautiful Island Resort"
An affordable yet beautiful resort with white sandy beaches and stunning snorkeling. I would say the shower needed regrouting in a few areas and the room is not super luxurious, however the resort makes up for it by having lots to do, so your not spending a lot of time in your room anyway. multiple beaches you can snorkel at. It was much bigger then I expected, the restaurants and drink were very affordable. I would highly recommend especially because it is truly and island experience and family friendly. I can't wait to go back!

"Beautiful location friendly staff... but only 3*"
I have just returned from 5 days at BLR with my two teenage sons. We had expected a 4*+ experience based on the photo gallery on the BLR website, and also on the many very positive reviews on Trip Advisor. Overall we had a fabulous relaxing tropical holiday, once we adjusted our expectations. The Resort is in a poor state of repair. We were initially put in a 2 bedroom bure which was so poor that I asked to be moved. After two requests we were moved to a single room bure that was in much better condition. However even that had problems - the bathroom tap bare trickled, and the plug could not be closed. There were no power points in the bathroom so drying hair or using a shaver had to be done without a mirror. The one towel rail, installed during our stay, was so small that it could barely cope with one towel. But the beds were large and very comfortable, and the room felt spacious and clean and welcoming. The plunge pool had paint peeling off the bottom and was too cold to use. The garden area in front of the bure was lovely, if a little untended. The thatched style roofs that appear in the website photos have all disappeared. I can only guess that they blew away in the cyclone in February, leaving bare roofing iron. Understandable, but surprising that no effort has been made to replace them by July. The swmming pool is pristine, and very inviting, if a little cold at the time of the year. The restaurant/communal space at the front of the resort was in good condition. I

"A quiet retreat if peace is your thing"
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. Although a bit far from the happening places (this tends to be more due to how developed Fiji is), the room was in tip top condition and the staff are the best brownie points for this place. Awesome place, if you want to get away from screaming children and be at one with nature!

"Comfortable friendly resort hotel"
Stayed 5 nights. Had a room in the main building at ground level. Very comfortable and clean (except for the layer of dust on the shelf in the wardrobe. We did lots of sneezing). Lovely looking bures. Beautiful gardens. Two lovely pools, one for adults only with a bar. Plenty chairs around the pools. Attentive waiters. Looks like lots to do for kids & good nanny service. Free snorkelling gear, kayaks, paddle boards (maybe staff should explain which is front & back to those who've never kayaked. Hilarious watching a couple facing e.o looking confused & then sitting back to front). Plenty restaurants. We had dinner twice. The seafood buffet was amazing (I got Ciguatera poisoning but may have been from lunch in Nadi). The Asian buffet ok. Lots of dishes to chose from. Delicious desserts. Didn't bother with breakfast as it was mostly sausages, hash browns, bread, eggs. I think it is adapted to the average westerner who appear to enjoy all the stodgy stuff (there was fruit too but not worth $40). Did one yoga class which was not really yoga, but fun anyway.
