"Room 322"
We stopped in room 322.  The room was really nice and your establishment is fantastic.  That was until the night. Nothing wrong with the hypnos bed but the noise was unbearable.  We knew it was windy outside but the constant whistling through what all i can guess is a damaged seal in a window was annoying.  It was like 8 hours of listening to a kettle whistling on a hob totally unbelievable for an 4 star hotel costing over £100 a night not fair and acceptable.  My wife mentioned this to the receptionist on checking out receiving a response of "thats a shame". I couldnt wait to get home to have a few hours sleep in peace.

"Great facilities, very average food. "
Overall it was a lovely stay, the room was nice and clean and had a nice view of the gardens. Facilities and staff were great, although the rooms could do with thicker walls and doors for those who want a lie in in the morning! We used the tennis court (which could have done with a spruce up, but it's quite late in the year so they could be forgiven for that), spa (sauna, steam room, jacuzzi) gym, golf course and had a massage (Natalie was amazing - highly recommended her and she was lovely too). Loved the buildings and grounds, very picturesque. HOWEVER, the food was very mediocre which was a bit of a shame. We tried ribs, soup, pizza (v small for the price), linguine and none of it was very good. We didn't eat in the priory restaurant at dinner though so can't comment on that. Breakfast was good, large selection, full English and omelette stand but it's £15pp if you have the room only booking - quite a lot for breakfast! Overall, really enjoyed the stay and would go back. We didn't go for the food but it would have been the icing on the cake.

"Great rural location"
Location good; but be careful with SatNav! Food excellent, and plenty of it. Room little small.

"Great location, Odd layout...."
Literally within walking distance of the rail station. Walked into the hotel, thought I'd entered the bar.... Common misconception I feel, but the management clearly feel they do not need to change this. Simple sign saying reception perhaps.... Checked in relatively easy, yet I had to ask a number of questions that I thought would have been offered routinely. Great bedroom facility. Went in to bar and ordered some drinks - great range of bottled beers. Pool table. Comfortable seating area. Breakfast - really disappointing experience. Arrived in the reception/bar area, surprised the staff that I actually wanted a breakfast, and that I'd not actually eaten in the hotel before. Normally, it's a full buffet selection, but on a weekend, food is cooked to order.... No menu to choose from, I have to look at the empty trays and make my selection from the signage, and when I knew what I wanted, go find the staff in reception and let then know my option.... When it arrived, the fried eggs were perfect - I asked for eggs, but never suggested my preference. Mushrooms, bland, sausage and bacon - from the day before.... Lack of interaction throughout - made it clear to them on leaving to return to my room. My comments we acknowledged and I was compensated. Shame to end like this. I'd be prepared to try again though.

"Hard to find!"
Like many other reviews missed the turn off - very frustrating! No food due to technical difficulties and no working cash machine to pay for the takeaway being delivered!! Staff were very nice. Spa facilities were great and overall good value for money

"Ok Hotel - common areas a little tired."
This is clearly an older hotel with the common areas looking tired and in need of modernisation. We arrived ahead of the 2pm check in time and were assigned a room immediately. We had paid the extra to reserve a suite but were given the keys to a standard double which was very dated and in dire need of refurbishment. When I mentioned this to the reception staff they did move us to a suite, but it was embarrassing to have to 'complain' about our room. They had found our booking on the system so why we were directed to the wrong room in the first instance remains a mystery. :( On the night of our stay there were several functions happening at the hotel and except for a few rowdy patrons at the bar we were not greatly affected. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was lovely and the staff attentive.

"Very grand but shabby bathroom"
The hotel was in the main very good. The bathroom in our room was a shambles - fittings coming off the wall, peeling paint, shower head disintegrating. And the shower kept needing temperature adjustments! Oh, and the cheese & crackers were rubbish - too few crackers that had been left in the liquor of the chutney so were soggy. All in all, four star hotel with a no star bathroom and no care taken with their cheese & crackers.
