Slow Suites Augusto

"Hidden Gem. "
I booked the Slow Suites Augusto as it appeared to be nice and had decent reviews on TripAdvisor. I can pleasantly say that the apartments were to a very high standard. Fixtures and fittings were very good and the room was pleasantly comfortable. I travelled as a family of 3 with a young child. The baby cot and bedding was clean and comfortable. The Apartment is a little hard to find as it’s a brown door that almost blends into the background but one inside we were very happy with what we found. Its centrally located and about 200 metres from Gran Via. It’s a short walk to the airport bus stop and close to numerous metro stations. Will defiantly look at this apartment again if visiting Madrid.

"Ideal for sightseeing "
Easy to get to, right at the heart of Madrid off the Grand via. Lots of bars and places to eat within a few yards. Good cut price supermarket just outside the door. Taxis knew it, would stay again.

Madrid Central Apartment

Calle Infantas 3, Madrid - Map
"Wonderful location in central Madrid"
The location was fantastic, very convenient to explore all areas of Madrid. The lift made things very easy with all of our luggage. The apartment was a good size for the area and had all of the required facilities. Convenience shops near enough outside the door as well as a couple of takeaways and plenty of restaurants just a minute away. Mini bar was handy on a couple of occasions and reasonably priced. Kitchen and shower room are a bit on the small side but functional. The provided internet connection was super fast. Overall we are very happy with our stay! These things did not ruin our stay at all but really should be addressed for a property that is being let to paying customers. This apartment is designed for four people but the hot water works on a small electrically heated tank which doesn't even provide enough water for one shower. It then takes over an hour to heat more water - this is just not practical at all! Other apartments have had combo boilers installed and the same needs to happen here, urgently. The TV signal is also extremely poor. We couldn't even get a good enough signal to watch one cartoon. There is only one power socket in the kitchen so you have to keep swapping between the kettle and the microwave. The internet router and cables are trailed alone the floor between two rooms - not ideal if you have young children. It wouldn't take much to attach it to the wall and do it properly. One of the fans did not work.

Pocket Guide: Madrid City Centre Chueca 4 stars Hotels

A down-at-heel central area in the 1980s, Chueca is now the fashionable gay heart of the city. The Plaza de Chueca is its epicentre, with countless terraces, bars and clubs in and around it. The surrounding streets are packed with cutting-edge shops and restaurants as well as traditional tapas bars. Don’t miss the Museo Municipal on Fuencarral, with its fine baroque entrance and Habsburg treasures within.
