"There's a reason we stay at the Hilton"
After staying in 2-3 star hotels for the previous 10 days (one of those group tours, 8 countries) we decided to stay somewhere comfortable on our last night in Europe. We knew that any Hilton would be a great choice, but the Canary Wharf location was close to our drop-off location. The room was beyond clean! There are USB outlets build into the desk, so no need to get out the country conversion plugs to charge our devices. I think my wife and I are going to look into buying whatever mattress and sheets Hilton uses on their beds, they were so comfortable. The underground was a pleasant and convenient 5 minute walk from the hotel. The Stratford station and Westfield Mall was only a 10 min ride away and provided a convenient place to shop, eat lunch, and see a movie while waiting for our 10:30pm flight. Hilton kept our luggage in a locked room while we were out. The price of our standard king room wasn't much more than a standard room at a 3-star hotel down the street, but it's well worth the small extra expense to know that you will be staying at a clean, convenient, and comfortable place. The staff was pleasant at all times. When checking out, there were about 4 people ahead of us, but it still only took a few minutes. Hilton also offers express checkout, but we added breakfast the next morning. Breakfast, by the way, was excellent! I like the fact that you can purchase either hot or cold breakfast. We choose Hilton because we always have a great experience at any location.

"Lovely fairly central hotel with pool"
The hotel was nice and fairly central. Staff upon arrival were friendly but in a 'trained' way. Not much personality. On the first night we were put out to find my son's bed had blood on the sheets (which was not his) so I called down to reception to ask for someone to come up and change it immediately. Room Service arrived looking rather inconvenienced. The next day I went to reception to ask for two extra pillows. That evening we discovered that the extra pillows had not been placed in our room so again I called down and asked for them. Again a different member of Room Service arrived and thrust them at my son as he opened the door saying 'what? , pillows!' in broken English. Needless to say he was rather bemused. When ordering a glass of red wine from the bar the barman did not wipe the glass and subsequently I ended up with a wine stain on my white trousers at which he just smirked. All in all nothing major and I would stay again but I think that the staff were not the best in the customer service stakes. Most were European but not British. Maybe it's a cultural anomalie but I think if you chose to be in the industry at least give it your all!!

"An excellent hotel with a reasonable price"
All services and facilities are excellent. Except it is a little bit too far from the center of London. We have to allow for about one hour of travel.

Pocket Guide: London Canary Wharf 4 stars Hotels

London’s 21st-century waterside business district, Canary Wharf is best known for its cutting-edge architecture, including the 50-storey obelisk-shaped skyscraper, One Canada Square. Get there by the Docklands Light Railway, with elevated tracks giving wonderful views into a world of glass and steel. By contrast, historic Greenwich, home to the National Maritime Museum, is just across the Thames. A foot tunnel links the two.
