A great B&B with friendly hosts and excellent breakfasts. Hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and have some great tips for things to do and see. Accommodation is excellent with a large room with en-suite and a large community room with TV/DVD. Worth every penny we paid.
Within walking distance of many restaurants, downtown area, river parkway, museums and the ballfield. Complementary water and juices, Nespresso coffee maker, and Clif bars. The use of 2 bicycles was especially nice for going on a relaxing ride along the river or a trip to Assiniboin Park.
Been visiting Winnipeg for the folkfest three times in the last several years. Have decided that friends from both sides of the border wil meet every other year for the weekend and the columns will be our home base. Lovely accommodations.
The Winnipeg Executive Suites-Polo Park was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and available 24 hours a day. The suite was clean, well supplied with everything one would need - even an infant crib with a darling quilt and sheets. Within minutes to the airport, right next to Polo Park, a large ...
I have stayed at this chain a few times in Minot but never remembered the name. I booked it because it was fairly new to Winnipeg and I had not tried it. Expedia told us we would have two cots available. They wouldn't fit. Mary, at the check in desk helped solve the problem and gave us an upgrade when we returned later in the week. She was the bright point of the whole experience. We always stay at the Sheridan when in Winnipeg because of the convenience ...
The sun sets as you walk along the Esplanade Riel Pedestrian Bridge. The white beams of modern architecture bounce off the light, and there is nowhere else you’d rather be during a visit to Manitoba. In Winnipeg, there’s a limitless amount of beautiful things to see and check out. See them all on your next trip to the capital city.
Just because you’re in one of Manitoba’s most populated cities, it doesn’t mean you have to overspend to enjoy your stay.
Follow the locals to The Forks. This downtown area is where residents and visitors meet at Johnston Terminal to sample local foods and check out artisanal crafts. Got your camera on you? Just walk a little bit outside of the hustle and bustle to the riverfront for some picturesque views. Another thing Winnipeg is known for is its long history, and luckily, it’s surprisingly affordable to get to know the city’s past up close and personal. The Police Museum is always free and features 1880s prisoner weapons and a jail cell preserved from the 1910s. For more modern law-making, simply head to the Manitoba Legislative Building. The stone and marble marvel offers free self-guided tours throughout the week.
Once you’re ready to rest those travelling feet, return to your Winnipeg 3-star hotel. Enjoy all the amenities you crave on holiday without draining your wallet. Enjoy more to spend on souvenirs and treats than on accommodations.
