After a check-in that took barely any time at all I was off to my room. Within minutes of arriving in my room I received a test message from the desk person Ashley welcoming me to the hotel. I felt this made me feel more at home and was a very nice gesture by Ashley. It was customer service above and beyond what is expected.

The Fort Garry Hotel

"Historic hotel near downtown. "
The Ft. Garry hotel was built in the early 1900s for early train traffic and it has undergone many renovations, but yet it still maintains a glorious feel from the past. Our room was top notch and we liked the free morning coffee, biscuit, and newspaper delivered at our requested time.

"Great pool for the family"
The ice bucket in the room was FILTHY! It was covered in dirt and grease and smelled terrible. Not sure how the cleaning personnel didn't notice that... The ceramic tile in the bathroom was chipped. Other than that, the room was good. I was pleased that there was a fridge and microwave included in the room. The pool was great! For some reason, we were supposed to wear wrist bands to the pool, even though there was no one in the pool area to check to see who was wearing wrist bands. We were told we'd have to pay $20 extra for an extra 4 wrist bands (only 4 were included with the room) but if we returned them unused on checkout, they wouldn't charge us. So we returned them unused, instead of wearing them. The pool was great, it has a really fun slide, and a wading area for young children and a hot tub. The hotel is in a good location because there is a grocery store right across the street if you need anything. I got a great last-minute deal on Expedia so I'm overall pleased with everything.

"not bad"
Room smelled a bit musty but price was good - under $100! For that price it was comfortable enough and it was clean. The bar was really nice for a few cocktails & some awesome pizza.

Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel

"This is the best hotel in Transcona."
Club Regent Casino was convenient to the purpose of my trip - visiting many friends and relatives in or near my old home town of Transcona. I ate in Aalto's several times, sometimes for breakfast ($2.99 - tea extra) when I was in a hurry, and sometimes for dinner after a long day. On one evening, several friends joined me for the buffet, during which, we were able to sit around and visit for over three hours. The food was quite acceptable (nice crisp salad bar) at a reasonable price. All the staff, in the restaurant and reception, were always very pleasant and accommodating.

Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown

"Close to downtown"
Absolutely amazing. We were really taken away that we got a 27th floor room for so cheap, we did not eat at the hotel because we missed it by and hour of closing but it's close to so many amazing bars such as the Pint and Tavern that is didn't matter anyway! We actually talked to the chef in the elevator for a bit, such friendly staff and will stay here again in the future!

Just because you’re in one of Manitoba’s most populated cities, it doesn’t mean you have to overspend to enjoy your stay.

Follow the locals to The Forks. This downtown area is where residents and visitors meet at Johnston Terminal to sample local foods and check out artisanal crafts. Got your camera on you? Just walk a little bit outside of the hustle and bustle to the riverfront for some picturesque views. Another thing Winnipeg is known for is its long history, and luckily, it’s surprisingly affordable to get to know the city’s past up close and personal. The Police Museum is always free and features 1880s prisoner weapons and a jail cell preserved from the 1910s. For more modern law-making, simply head to the Manitoba Legislative Building. The stone and marble marvel offers free self-guided tours throughout the week.

Once you’re ready to rest those travelling feet, return to your Winnipeg 3-star hotel. Enjoy all the amenities you crave on holiday without draining your wallet. Enjoy more to spend on souvenirs and treats than on accommodations.
