We had an early flight and needed a hotel near the airport. This was a good choice.

El Tapatio Hotel And Resort

"Welcome, to the twilight zone. "
Staying at the Tapatio is an experience. A hotel that has its glory days behind, El tapatio is part of Guadalajara's history. It's dated infrastructure, combined with an unambitious management have produced as a result a hotel that is as surrealist as Mexico. If you need a business like experience, stay in a modern business hotel; if you are looking for something more (and less) El tapatio is a great choice. The rooms are huge, the bed is clean and confortable, the view is amazing. The "discoteque" is out of a Mexican 1960s movie, the restaurant is mediocre (but a great "capitan de meseros") and the decoration has a Madonna-Inn-by-Accident taste. The do have a shuttle to the airport, and the view is amazing. If you want a hotel with personality, even if that personality is not super manicured, staying at the Tapatio will give you that. Imagine talking with an old lady from an old family who lost all the money, but still has a great story to tell. That lady is el Tapatio.

"Great hotel in Telaquepaque"
This hotel is conveniently located and the rooms and bathrooms are neutral and spacious. There are a variety of spaces to meet and visit. Although their grounds are nice, the pool is small. What really sets this establishment apart from other hotels in Telaquepague is the staff. Everyone is truly invested in hospitality. Their enjoyment of their job truly makes San Piedro the place I will be staying on my biannual visits to Guadalahara.

The price was too high for the quality of the hotel, I was expecting something cheaper for this kind o executive hotels.

this hotel is right on the main drag with cars and trucks cruising by day and night. good thing most of the rooms are back off the street and quiet. nice pool and restaurant. the front desk staff repeatedly appeared to be day-dreaming with us standing right in front of them. odd.

"Quaint and comfortable"
Close to all the action of the plaza in Tlaquepaque, but far enough off the beaten path. The traffic was a little noisy on the weekend and in the mornings. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a communal area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a beer or whatever you bring with you or purchase during the day. They do have a small fridge with cold beer and sodas for sale at a reasonable price. We really enjoyed our stay.

"Highly recommend this hotel"
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and as much as we want to learn Spanish, it was great to know they spoke English for the times we needed it. They recommended a name of a driver, which was very helpful, he took us shopping in Tonola, picked us up in Tlaquepaque and took us to Guadalajara for a city tour, as well as the ruins near Tequila. The rooms are spacious and clean, the waiters in the restaurant and lounge were great, super personalities, the food very tasty, nice presentation, music by local artists in the evening. They arranged our taxis for us, the hotel staff even greated us at our room at 4:30am to carry our luggage through the hotel the early morning we had arranged to be picked up to go to the airport. We will definitely stay at the Quinta Don Jose Boutique Hotel again, and will recommend it to any one.

"Tlaquepaque Downtown"
The hotel is centrally located to shops and entertainment, right at Taquepaque's downtown or main square el "Parian". I did not like the fact that curfew time on Friday night is 12:00am and the other days 11:00pm, continental breakfast was good. We did order Chilaquiles for breakfast one day and we ate about one tenth of it and cooked with lots of cooking oil. The staff was friendly.
