"A central location close to restaurants, and shops"
We only stayed one night and wish that we had stayed longer! The staff were very welcoming, the parking was close and convenient. Although we didn't eat in the hotel we overheard other people making positive comments. Our room although on the small size, was well appointed as was the bathroom. We had a warm room and were easily able to open the window when we first arrived to make it a little cooler. Although our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road through Shrewbury it was not noisy during the night. We walked out in the evening around the town and then onto to a local bar for a light snack. In the morning after checking out but before moving our car we walked around the stores again. we also got breakfast at a nearby small cafe - more to have a change of scene than to avoid the hotel dining room.

"Very good, 'traditional' small hotel"
Stayed here the night before the Anfield 100 time trial (bike race), with my wife. Very handy for Shawbury, the race HQ. Food was good, staff were pleasant if a little disorganised at times, and they were accommodating to my need for a very early (5.20 a.m.) breakfast, and they found a handy place for me to leave the bike prior to leaving. They also let me come back and have a shower in the early afternoon, so we also stayed for lunch. I would definitely stay again in similar circumstances and will be recommending it to my clubmates (there are a lot of time trial races around there); I guess the only issue would be if there was a wedding on. They clearly are very reliant on being a wedding venue, and if you were a non-wedding guest trying to sleep early, it might be a problem. This didn't arise for our stay as it was a Sunday bank holiday evening.

"Nice hotel centrally located on top of a nice pub."
The room was good and the kitchen facilities in the room we booked a bonus. However, the bed was too low and as it was against the wall, the person sleeping next to the wall had to climb over the other person if bathroom needed in the night. this would have been ok but the frame on the bed had sharp edges. The room was relatively clean but there was blood on the wall next to the bed and the fridge could have been cleaner. The kettle leaked all over the electric base and worktop....was reported. Didn't really see the hotel/bar staff much.

"Beautiful building, stunning dining room"
A hotel full of character & history. Stunning dining room with huge stone fireplace. Food excellent. Area for improvement: Room 18 bathroom needs serious refurbishment & bathroom door unable to close & provide privacy! Lunch time bar staff pleasant but slow to attend to our drinks & food requests.

"Father Day Gift"
My children got me a ticket to the Cosford Air Show, rather than having to get up early my wife and I decided to book a room near to the event. Expedia came up with the Bookatree Hall Hotel, after reading through the reviews and the proximity of the hotel to the event we went ahead and booked. The whole process was very easy and the updates from Expedia were very good and kept us informed. When we arrived at the Hotel the first thing that met us was the peaceful and beautiful location, one thing that did concern us was there was a wedding on. However our concerns were put to rest as the reception was held in a different part of the hotel and as for the disco noise we could not hear anything. the staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them if you had any questions or wanted any info on the nearest shops, petrol station etc. We decided to have a meal at the Hotel and I have to say the food was excellent and reasonably priced too. The room was very good and clean, my said it was one of the best nights sleep she has had in a long while. I would highly recommend the Buckatree Hall Hotel and if we go to Cosford Air Show next year this is the place where we stay at.
