"Central Oxford Hotel - Great Position."
Friendly receptionist took me to room and explained keys, how to get hold of reception staff after 4pm and fridge in common area for guests use.. Quiet room with no view apart from the backs of other buildings. Temperature was perfect, the place was really clean. Nice tea tray.. Would have slept better with curtain or blackout blind as window venetian blind didn't keep light out burning in adjoining building all night. Bathroom window wouldn't shut. TV and internet fine. Didn't bother with the breakfast at the café around the corner the second morning of my stay . Enjoyed the visit but it is too expensive for what you get.

The Oxford Osney Arms

45 Botley Road, Oxford - Map
"Delightful stay at refurbished B&B"
The Osney Arms was once a pub that has been completely renovated into a modern B&B. The room was the largest room we had in any B&B on our trip with a king sized bed and spacious bathroom with all new fixtures. The rooms were very clean and neat. Breakfast was a buffet of toasts, cheese, fruit, cereals, yogurt, etc. served family style around a communal table. The staff was attentive and helpful. They kept our bags in a locked room the next day until we were ready to leave Oxford. In the afternoons, the Osney Arms also serves as a coffee shop and you can take your coffee outside on a pleasant, but small, patio. The Osney Arms was an easy, straight 10 minute walk from the train station. But it is the opposite direction from the center of town. So about a 20 minute walk into the center of Oxford. It was a lovely stay and I would completely recommend.

Holiday Inn Oxford

Peartree Roundabout, Oxford - Map
"Ideal for visiting Oxford."
Although I had contacted the hotel in advance and specifically booked a twin room for my daughter and myself, the room was not executive as specified and extra items had to be obtained when I spoke to the desk clerk. Staff response to any requests e.g. extra soft pillows, was good and quickly acted upon. Cooked breakfast was fine, fresh and hot. Starbucks coffee in the lounge is a definite plus after a busy day. The nearby Park and Ride service into Oxford is excellent and runs until late.

Welcome Break Service Area, Oxford - Map
"Decent, low priced room, 20 mins from Oxford"
Liked the location on the London side of Oxford. It was attached to a service area including fuel and multiple restaurants. The rooms were bare essentials, but we were only there one night and it was fine for us, especially for the price.

Green Gables Guest House

326 Abingdon Road, Oxford - Map
"Decent B&B for the price"
If you are looking for a cheap, no-frills B&B within easy access of downtown Oxford, Green Gables will suit you just fine. The couple who owns the place are very nice and were more-than-accommodating with my late arrival time (they request check-in no later than 10pm. I arrived at 11pm with no problems). The rooms are very tiny but comfortable and clean — all with ensuite bathrooms. The complementary breakfast is decent (options include cereal with toast, fresh fruit, full English breakfast, vegetarian breakfast with sautéed mushrooms, beans, an egg and toast, etc.). The coffee is served in a French press and is quite good. Some things to note: - the free wi-fi on the second floor is spotty — decent on the first floor - budget yourself at least 25 minutes for a cab to arrive during the morning and evening rush hours - it's less than a 10-minute cab ride to downtown Oxford from Green Gable - there's not much around the B&B itself, but it's about a 25-minute walk to central Oxford from Green Gables - it's difficult to find a local restaurant or pub open after 11pm during the week - there is one iron available. You'd be wise to pre-iron your clothes before travelling - there is a bus stop directly out front of the B&B Bottom line: you could do much worse for $100/night.

"Cheap stay in Summertown"
This is a simple b&b in Summertown, Oxford. It's a quick bus ride into central Oxford or a 45 minute walk if you want some exercise. It's very simple and the rooms are small, but if you just need a bed for the night, it's well priced and located. The staff is friendly and helpful.
