I liked it. Staff was nice and helpful.. Breakfast was nice and simple. Don't go too late or you might have nothing left. Nice room with 2 bedrooms and a small lounge where we could have cooked. Not sure if all the room are like that but it will have been handy if we had stayed more than one night.
This charming hotel is in a great location overlooking the sea and within easy walking distance of everything in historic Ortygia. Our room was spotlessly clean and came with a small balcony that overlooked the street and ancient church below. There is an amazing rooftop terrace, open to guests, where one can sunbathe or eat a meal overlooking the absolutely beautiful blue Mediterranean. The helpful staff assisted us as we found a nearby parking spot for our car and gave us a paper to put on the dashboard so we wouldn't get a ticket. Breakfast was delicious and the server particularly nice and ready with a smile. The best, though, was Cinzia, the amazing front desk woman who was so interesting and funny and helpful. She was just great and made us want to come back to Siracusa and Domus Mariae for another visit very soon!
A very old building with a slight mustiness, but a clean and quiet room. Simple but fresh breakfast provided at a nearby cafe.Big plus: It was great to stay right in Ortygia a few steps from the water or from the centre. And the staff were very helpful

Staff extremely helpful , clean hotel we had room Cleaned daily.
Very convenient location for busses , restaurants, shops, sea. There were several city beaches where the water was clean and you could swim close to hotel. Other beaches were far and you had to take an hour bus journey to get to them. But station was close to hotel and services were regular.
Hotel facilities basic but functional .

On the plus side, the Artemide is very well situated in Ortigia - close to the sea, and walking distance to the central Piazza Duomo. The free Ortigia-round shuttle passes very close-by. Our room was very clean. We were surprised to find that breakfast was available in Piazza Archimede - a five minute walk from the B&B - and not on site. We were given tickets to present each day at the Bar Centrale. Very nice pastries both savoury and sweet available and coffee. However, breakfast only included one coffee and one pastry each. If you wanted more, you had to pay - coffee Euros 2.50 a cup and pastries from Euros 2.00. We are two coffee people, and it adds up on top of room rate. It turned out that it was very pleasant to have breakfast here and watch the world go by, but we should have been told in advance.
The big minus for the Artemide for us was the beds. The mattresses and pillows appeared to be constructed of bricks, and were the most uncomfortable we have ever experienced in any hotel or B&B. We suffered sleepless nights, as it was literally impossible to get comfortable. Such a shame - spoiled our stay. Other minus was we were asked to pay in cash - no credit card payment facility available.
