For the past four years going to the Philippines, I always stay at this hotel. Staff are friendly and the food in the downstairs restaurant is good. Close to all any thing you might need during your stay. i.e. shopping, doctors...

Location and staff are excellent. My room was small and there were some roaches, but besides that I really like the location. Close to lots of things and Robinson Mall is right across the street.P200 taxi cab ride to most of the nice hotels and malls.
Stayed 2 nights while waiting for our flight back to states. Convenient to downtown and airport. Older, but comfortable hotel. Computer facilities for flight confirmation for a reasonable fee. Helpful staff. 2 good restaurants on premises. All in all a good place to prepare for flight. Older, but still comfortable facilities. As everywhere in the Philippines; a very pleasant and helpful staff.
I stayed at the Casa Bocobo for two weeks in 2013. The location is good although it is on a one-way street which confuses the taxi drivers who wish to get you to the front door. The room was clean. The reception staff persons were helpful and pleasant. This hotel is not anything fancy. But at a good price, you are not paying for fancy. Decent free breakfast. Stay on second floor for added privacy. Starbucks and good seafood restaurants are within walking distance. Also, there is a huge Robinson Center mall within a short taxi ride of ~$2.00. I recommend this hotel and I'll use it again when I am back in town.
Let's face it, you probably won;t stay in this area of town unless you have business at the US Embassy, which is just a short walk away from the hotel. With that in mind, the hotel staff is extremely friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable, and met my expectations for a hotel at this price-point. The negatives were road noise, which isn't a big surprise considering the location, and the breakfast buffet is just 'eh'.
The sound insulation of the room is worse than any hotel where I have stayed. I could hear anything happened in the corridor including the sound induced by the close of any entrance door clearly, it affected me very much. Moreover, I could hear clearly the voice in the corridors, that means anyone in the corridor could hear what I said, no privacy.
The staff in the front desk spent over twenty minutes to handle my check in, I think it was too long especially it was only me to wait for check in.
The hotel is inside a residential building, therefore it gives me an impression that the security is not enough becuase there are so many people going in and out, I cannot sure if they are tenant of that building.
But the hotel is well located, it is close the Pedro Gil LRT station, as far as I can remember, only four stops from Taft Avenue, where the airport shuttle bus would drop you off.
