If you are looking for a bargain, reasonably clean, helpful people, OK restaurant, low stakes games and slots, easy access to Fremont st and the Bus to the strip is only a block away. This is the place. Lousy internet in room.

"Stay at 4-Queens"
We had a wonderful stay at the 4-Queens. The hotel is aging but is still a great and fun place to stay. The employees were wonderful and security was ever present. The only downfall is the plumbing. Our bathtub/shower would not drain and filled with each short shower. This happened the last time we were at the 4-Queens also. But all, in all it was a great stay.

"Great modern hotel in Downtown Vegas!"
I have stayed at the Grand 3 times now and have always enjoyed myself! The rooms are clean, modern and have nice beds and facilities. The decor of the hotel is fresh and very "boutique" feeling, while still giving you a great deal. It's only 1 block off of Fremont Street, so it's an easy walk to all the action and I've always felt quite safe staying there. The casino downstairs is a little gem that's quiet, but offers all the table games, sports book, and slots that you could want. Love this place!

"Between the strip and downtown "
It located at the end of the strip but it is convenient to take bus to the strip and downtown . Good for the price and cleanness. No casino inside the building so if you plan to gamble then be consider.

"Great Vacation Bundle for Fremont St Experience"
I stayed at Golden Gate as part of a vacation bundle, and the price was definitely right. The hotel is right on the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. I'm very grateful to the desk clerk who checked me in Monday night 2/1/16 at about 8:30--she asked me whether I wanted to be on Fremont St or in the back, and when she explained that there was a live band till 2:00 AM on the Fremont side I am glad I took the back where I slept like a baby. I really loved the retro 1930s feel of the room, especially the bathroom--the old school bathtub was as deep as a hot tub and very relaxing. Minor annoyance: the Coke machines were being "defrosted" and so had warm Cokes the entire week I was there, plus it was a gamble to get a Coke at all as the machines seemed hungry and ate a few dollar bills. DuPar's Restaurant and Bakery was right inside the hotel and a great 24 hour spot for snacks and meals as needed. I would definitely stay here again.

"Conveniently located on Fremont Street!"
We stayed there for our anniversary. Nice and cozy. It was a little loud as we were in the tower overlooking the yard it didn't bother us tho because we knew we wouldn't be spending to much time in there. They do provide ear plugs tho. Only thing that sucks was if you go thru the front door especially, at night you have to show your ID every time you enter.

"Ok for the Price."
Stayed at the California four nights during the week some staff was friendly some staff was very crabby not sure if you don't like your job why are you there. pretty tough to get a drink if you were playing slots. If you were playing cards drinks were there every 10 minutes. It's a nice hotel to stay at if you're not going to gamble there. Gambling at the California was absolutely terrible never seen one big winner all week I was there. Rooms were very clean and maids were extremely friendly! They had construction inside and outside going on all week. now you would think they would work from 7 AM to 10 PM not the case I heard a hammer drill going at 3 AM which made me very unhappy and during the day very loud noise the whole day. Didn't stick around. Garbage truck and other loud vehicles making loud noises in the middle of the night backing up sirens and loud bangs. Not sure why am writing this review because the hotel could care less all they want is your money. One good thing about this hotel is no resort fees. Other than the construction going on outside in the middle of the night nice place to stay at. Food at the café was also good. Clean bathrooms.

The neon, twinkling lights of vintage Vegas are on full display downtown at the Fremont Street Experience, a five-block area that features a few of the city’s longest-operating casinos, a pedestrian mall, and an overhead electronic canopy for laser and light shows. Downtown Las Vegas also houses city hall, the 18b Arts District, and a large outlet mall.
