"Great staff and beautiful hotel"
Very beautiful hotel. Nice breakfast. The nicest most helpful staff ever met. supermarket is right next to it. The only problem it's not very close to plaza de armas and we had to take a taxi , luckily taxis aren't expensive.

"Comfortable and well-priced hotel"
We spent two nights at this hotel and were quite satisfied with our stay. Here is what we like about the hotel: 1. The family room. The room was exactly as represented on the hotel's website with one twin bed and a double bed. Our room had a nice view of the mountain and river as well as a view of the working train station located across the hotel (if you look down). However, the noise from the train station is not really an issue if you plan to take the early bus to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise. Plenty of hot water in the shower, which was much appreciated after a long day at Machu Pichu which included the hike up Machu Pichu mountain (well worth it to see the view of the ruins and Waynu Pichu in the background). 2. The staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. When we checked in, the staff was very good in making sure that we had everything needed for our trip to Machu Picchu the next day. 3. The breakfast. For a "budget" hotel, I was surprised at the array of fruits and food offered for breakfast (included in the room rate). The staff will ask you the night before what type of eggs (fried, scrabbled or omelet) you want and what time you want to have breakfast. 4. Good wifi. Although the wifi is supposed to be available only in the lobby, we were able to get it in our room. There is also a lobby on the upper floor.

"On the river and train line Aguas Calientes"
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. However be warned that this hotel is right next to the train line, so you hear and feel every train that passes! It was a little better on the river side of the hotel as the sound of the river drowns out some of the train noise. Buffet breakfast very average. Check out time was disappointing, on top of paying a hotel tax we also got slogged with a service charge which is not mentioned anywhere on the website or at check in. Also the staff did not even check my online booking papers and we were charged slightly more than the site promised. Wins points for cleanliness , lovely staff and comfortable rooms but the noise and hidden charges disappointing.

"Stunning hotel on our way to Machu Picchu"
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the Arqueologo Hotel.. From the moment we arrived, the staff was attentive with getting us comfortable and acclimating to the altitude. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our room was spacious with a king sized bed and and a loft. After a day of touring Cusco, we returned to the hotel to rest just a bit before going back our for dinner. However, when we came downstairs, we thought we would just peek in to see what the dining room was like and were immediately drawn in by the lovely atmosphere of the restaurant.. Dinner was delicious. It was also serendipitous that it was opera night; following our dinner there was a lovely opera performance. We slept well and enjoyed our breakfast in the morning. Our only wish was that we could stay another day. I highly recommend this hotel.
