"Nice hotel for a reasonable price"
Booked a room late in amsterdam on a holiday weekend. This hotel was very nice. The location was good in that it was right on the tram line which helped because many sites were a little bit far for an easy walk. The room was extremely clean and ready when we arrived early. It was very quiet even though it is located on a busy street. The bathroom was a little small as the walk in shower did not quite contain the water but plenty of towels from the hotel made it manageable.

"Not bad but..."
No fridge. Paper thin walls and doors. Excellent location. Poor room ergonomics Nice staff. A little too expensive for what it is. Stay at Hotel Parklane instead if you are able to scale the stairs as Nes does have a good working elevator. Very small single room but adequate. Nice toilet.

Pocket Guide: Amsterdam Canal Ring 3 stars Hotels

The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
