"Comfortable, clean and close to everything."
We stayed in this hotel for one night, hoping to be close to tourist attractions for our one day experience of Chicago. The staff were helpful and friendly, giving us tourist tips and allowing us to store our luggage while we explored the city the next day. Our room was clean and had all the standard fare for hotels. And the hotel was located right across the street from one of the coolest statue/art of about 50 walking legs (never did find out watt that was all about) and skateboarding park/green area, all of this adding to the welcoming atmosphere. We weren't kept awake by any traffic noise; on the contrary, we found the area to be very quiet and relaxed. We got out the next morning to walk around the Natural History museum, the aquarium and Soldier Field before we headed out for our organized walking tour through downtown Chicago. My only item for the wish-list: Most Best Westerns include breakfast with their stay, but this one didn't. There was a lovely restaurant in the hotel, though, but you had to pay for breakfast. And there was a coffee maker in our room, so we did get our caffeine jolt to start our day. So overall, we were very pleased.

"Renting an apt is the best bang for your buck!"
Fantastic way to stay in Chicago for a competitive rate and comforts of home. The view was amazing we had apartment 711, which was a corner view of E. Wacker river view and the pier and we got a perfect view of the fireworks in our apartment! Renting an apartment is definitely a good idea for a family as well as a couple to stay comfortably. We rented a one bedroom and it had a king sized bed with polyester down alternative blanket and soft linens. There was an air mattress for my 7 yr old daughter and she felt like she was camping in the big city. The kitchen was full size equipped with a coffee maker (not a keurig), dishes, silverware-even pots and pans. We brought some food with us and bought the rest at grocery store called Bockwinkel's which was perfect for the snacks and brkfst, lunch, and dinner options. *Note* Bring your towels because on weekends especially holiday weekends the housekeeping office is closed. Bring your toiletries as this is an apartment not a hotel. Bring creamer and sugar if needed for coffee. Oh and bring your camera and good walking shoes because you can walk everywhere just as the website says.

Pocket Guide: Chicago The Loop - Downtown 2 stars Hotels

Locals call downtown Chicago “The Loop.” The famous Marshall Field’s, now a Macy’s, is on State Street. Cultural attractions include the Art Institute of Chicago, the Lyric Opera, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Grant and Millennium parks are along the lakefront. Visitors can enjoy complimentary concerts (summer only) and the annual, two-week “Taste of Chicago” in June at Grant Park.
