"Central to everything you need!"
Had an amazing stay at the hotel. Right within walking distance to Little Italy and the tram, the waterfront and lots of amazing restaurants. Staff were amazing, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is a little older however I don't particularly think that matters when the rooms are clean and comfortable, I couldn't find one thing to complain about. Location really is great, felt safe walking around at night to and from the hotel.

"Convenient location"
The location was next to freeway so not very appealing if you're looking for the beach vibe, but otherwise very convenient to Old Town. We were able to easily walk there, which was our intent. The hotel itself is smallish and easy to get around. Beds were comfy and the room had a fridge. Extra towels without asking. The breakfast was much more than expected, but I wish they'd do less and have better quality. I feel they can do without the pre-wrapped danish and the multiple cereals. Waffles, eggs, fruit, some type of pork and muffins are more than enough! Fake butter, fake cream, canned, syrupy, mushy strawberries, ugh. I would have paid a dollar for premium coffee and half n half. I realize I shouldn't grouse about a free breakfast, but you can do a lot more with less. All in all this hotel was worth the price as it was cheaper than surrounding hotels, but of course, in the middle of summer, not that cheap at all!

"Nice hotel, close to Little Italy"
My only complaint about this hotel would be the plumbing. In order for the toilet to flush completely, the handle had to be held down until the toilet completely flushed. Other than that for an older hotel, it was acceptable.

Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown - San Diego Hotels
Rating: 2.5 Stars

Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown

1531 Pacific Hwy, San Diego - Map
The hotel is not like other Hampton Inn hotels. All elevators are so hot and shaking . I told the reception about them but they did nothing. I was afraid of taking the elevator because of the above reasons. The car park has not enough places for the residents and they charge $14.00 per day.

"Hilltop Reunion Weekend"
I was so impressed with this hotel. I loved my stay. The beds were so comfortable, since I have problems with my back, I didn't here. I have stayed in places that cost me more, and I got less. I will reserve my stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the San Diego area. There are a lot of places to eat within walking distance. You are close to the train, but far enough away you don't hear it. The rooms have refrigs, micowaves, coffee pot, hair dryers, and even samples of shampoo ect. The pool was clean, and I enjoy my time in the spa. I have a registered service dog, and the grass area was nice for her to run around in. It is easy to get anywhere from here, the freeway is close. You get off on "E" street, turn right on Broadway and it is right on your right side.
