"Great Location!!!"
Everything was great about this hotel. Very clean. Hotel staff very friendly. The only down was that their was no window in the room. But for the price a great deal. Excellent experience. Two blocks to Malecon and great restaurants. Would stay again.

"Great experience in the heart of PV"
Our room at Los Arcos Suites was a bit dated, but it was very clean and kept that way during our stay with daily maid service (thanks Miriam). Plenty of room and a comfortable king-sized bed. All of the hotel staff were friendly and always accommodating. The downtown location of the hotel was perfect, with lots and lots (and lots) of restaurants, shops, and activities right at your doorstep. Los Muertos Beach and the new pier are very close, perfect for ocean swimming and people watching. It was great having access to pools at all three hotels: the quiet pool at Los Arcos Suites, the delightful rooftop pool at Casa Dona Susana (across the street), and the beach-side pools at Playa Los Arcos Hotel (just half a block away). We plan to come back the next time we visit PV...

"I love Viejo PV!"
This hotel is in the old town of PV, close to everything. An easy walk to the Malecon & all the shops you could wish for. My room was on the street side, so, a bit noisy, but very clean & comfy. The staff are incredible, very friendly & happy to see you at all times. I will be back!

"A nice place to return to after a nice day out"
First, I found the women who managed the desk to extremely friendly and helpful, as were the housekeepers. They even helped me with a little Spanish. While, this is no five-star hotel, it is probably more than 3.5. Although the rooms and building are dated, they were very clean, and it was clear there was an effort to maintain them. One minor complaint would be that it can be noisy, particularly early in the morning and late at night. That could be because apart from hotel rooms, there are apartments and the staircase winds up three flights to the rooftop patio and more apartments through the centre of the building. What I liked most about this hotel was that it was away from the busy tourist traffic, about five or six blocks from the beach, but in a more local neighbourhood. There appeared to be more ex-pats living in the area than tourists, and it was great to soak up a bit more culture as Puerto Vallarta residents went about their daily affairs. There are several restaurants, bars, green grocers and corner convenience stores within minutes walking. It is also an easy walk to the Malecon area and several banks, including an HSBC and Scotiabank, and a Starbucks if you do not want to enjoy a local café. The river is a block over, and a small island in that part of the island contains some interesting Hollywood movie memorials and leads to the road leading either to the beach or the Malecon area. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It is not expensive, excellent value.

Pocket Guide: Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone 2 stars Hotels

The Rio Cuale divides downtown and the Romantic Zone, an area brimming with bars, restaurants, and shops. Isla Rio Cuale features a river walk and a small museum with pre-Columbian artifacts. Stretching for 16 blocks along the shore, the Malecón boardwalk is lined with bronze sculptures and palm trees. Boats depart from a nearby pier to Yelapa and Los Arcos, favored by divers and snorkelers.
