We had a wonderful time at this hotel. It is centrally located on Duval Street within walking distance of any attraction. Parking is across the street which is very convenient since Key West is very limited in parking spaces. The bar area in the rear of the building is great with a clean pool and large hot tub. All staff and guests were very friendly and we enjoyed the Bourbon Street bar in the same building.

"Pleasantly surprised - good value"
Key West accommodation is expensive, and this hotel was relatively inexpensive and set up like a motel so we didn't expect much - but we were very pleasantly surprised! It seems like it has been recently redone, and the swimming pool area is excellent in condition, size and amenities. The hot tub is also good. There's plenty of free parking and the location is walking distance to Duval street with lots of food and entertainment options, it's also close to the Hemingway House (highly recommend!) The only thing to improve - and it's definitely not a deal breaker at least for me - would be the breakfast area. As it's a motel, there's not a very big lobby or common space (besides the pool area outside). There's a tiny room where breakfast area which people coming in from the lobby walk through to get to the pool and rooms and vice versa. So between 730 -9am that is a disaster zone with people everywhere, the tables are crammed into the breakfast room so you feel like your tripping over people to get to the food. You can eat outside by the pool which helps, but I wouldn't want to be there on a rainy day. The food itself was fine in terms of quality and selection - nothing amazing but OK and all the usual stuff but the layout could be improved.

Wonderful experience from the moment we stepped through the garden gate. From the courteous staff, to the clean and cozy room, to the privacy of the comfortably furnished patio gardens..this house was a surprising delight. We will definitely return again.

"Just off main drag"
The Merlin house is a quaint historic house with squeaky floors! :). The rooms are done up with the taste of the old with the conviences of the new ! Breakfast in the back garden was great. We were close to all the activity of Duval Street but far enough for some quiet.

"Very interesting "
Very interesting concepts. We had 4 bunk beds which is great if you have multiple travelers. The pools are nice and the staff was super sweet and awesome. My issue with my room was the smell. It had a musty smell that was very overwhelming and since they were booked we couldn't move. We were given a machine to purify and something was put in the ax unit but neither worked. As a result all our clothes smelled. It was gross. The staff did try to help but nothing did.

"Basic-to-Nice Key West Accomodations"
Staff was super-friendly and helpful. Room was small, but clean - except for one notable thing, the floors seemed very dirty, not visibly, but walking around barefoot in the room made it apparent.

Pocket Guide: Stock Island Key West 2 stars Hotels

The southernmost part of the continental U.S., several presidents and writers have spent time here. Popular tourist attractions include the Ernest Hemingway House on the southern end of the island, and Truman Annex in Old Town. Within the annex is Bahama Village, a home to many citizens of African-Bahamian descent, who settled Key West in the early 19th century.
