"Close to the nightlife "
Great for the price. Nice room and close to the clubs. If you just need a room and not a resort, this is the right place. Perfect location 5 minutes walking to the nightlife like coco bongo. Staff was very helpful in all ways. They helped out with tour informations, clubs, and restaurants. They also gave free wifi, which had strong signal.

"Good for the price"
The hotel was located in a good zone, close to all the resorts and beaches in cancun. It was a very modest hotel good for the price. The bed sheets could have used a little more cleanliness since they seemed to be stained

"Great location at an excellent price"
This hotel is ideally situated within minutes of walking from the center of activity in cancun, its a few minutes walk from beaches, buses, shopping and restaurants, its located on the lagoon side where you cannot swim, there is a nice pool, 4feet depth, the rooms were cleaned daily, the sheets were not changed, we did not get clean bath towels daily, a cost of $1.50 has to be paid for daily clean towels, its an old hotel but seems to be fairly maintained. This hotel is good for a person who requires a place just to sleep, however to beds were not overly comfortable, one must always bear in mind prices paid must be commensurate with what you get, and for the price for the rooms the hotel is reasonable, for me it was perfect, close proximity to food and activities. The air-condition gave some trouble but it was repaired as soon as I made the complaint.

"The Noisy Wheel"
We booked a room for three people. The first night we were given a room with two beds - we had stayed at this hotel several years ago and had a room with three beds. The next morning we complained, and were given the room with the three beds. Do not pay extra for a classic room the facilities are the same. We took a short trip and when we returned the dishes had not been washed or the room cleaned; only the beds were made. Very poor wi-fi. One can only get it in a small space in the lobby, not in the entire lobby. Television had only two English channels-on some days. There was CNN, which switched to Spanish; the Cartoon Network; and a movie channel with Spanish subtitles - the channel also switched to Spanish. Therefore, everyday we were left with generally two channels in English.

"Million Dollar View on a Thousand Dollar Budget"
We had a great time at this hotel. We stayed during Spring Break, but it was our anniversary so we went anyway. We were pretty nervous thinking we were going to run into a bunch of partying college students. Not at this hotel! Most of the crowd were people between late 20's on up into folks in their 80's. The breakfast was excellent. The lunch and dinners were good too, although I did not enjoy Italian night or Asian night. Why they don't do Mexican food every night is beyond me. When I go to Mexico, I want to eat Mexican food. I guess I'm not gringo enough to appreciate it. The room was fine, except for the bed. OMG, the bed was SO HARD! It was like sleeping on plywood with a thin sheet of foam. What we loved best about the room was the view. We had an ocean view and it was truly amazing. Any discomfort with the bed was outweighed by the view. When we got there, the AC seemed to not be working, but we know window units and it was just frozen. We turned it off and let it thaw and it worked just fine for the rest of the week. They have free Wifi by the restaurant and by the circular pool, but not in the rooms.

"Hotel right on the beach"
I arrived in the afternoon before check in and my room was ready. There were two elevators one never worked while there. The other elevator worked the first day we arrived. After that the elevator was out of service. My fiancé and I had to walk 7 flights of stairs. Hell everyone had to walk up and down the stairs everyday each day and the hotel did not offer any discounts or offer an apologies. The staff was pleasant. The food was in abundance and delicious. The access to the beach was great. The hotel was in the process or renovations. The outside really needed a face lift....rust on the outside of the buildings...In my room the windows showed signs of condensation which means the windows were not sealed tight enough. Some of the towels had stains on them like say you had tomato sauce on them and it did not fully wash off. The AC in the room was great. It was like Alaska in the room.

Pocket Guide: Cancun Hotel Zone 2 stars Hotels

The Cancun Hotel Zone rests on a slit of land bound by a lagoon and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Sunseekers crowd the white-sand beaches. At night, the action moves to the restaurants, clubs, and bars that line Boulevard Kukulcán, the area’s main artery. This road passes by the El Rey ruins, believed to be a king’s tomb.
