Stayed overnight with two friends from Europe on their way home from a month away. We each had comfortable rooms, shared bath--wouldn't want to do that for long, but it worked fine for one night. The place has an European feel that I loved, and just accepted: it's an old building, outdated bath, and this is exactly the ambience. The upstairs salon was great for a late night chat, and good continental breakfast. Homey and restful. We had our corgi/dog with us and appreciated being able to bring her to the city--could walk downhill to the waterfront park and around the Pike Market area. Great access to this part of the city.

Pocket Guide: Seattle 2 stars Downtown Seattle Independent Pet-friendly Hotels

Downtown Seattle stretches along Puget Sound from historic Pioneer Square in the south to trendy Belltown in the north. In between, office towers, shopping gallerias, and brick condos line the leafy avenues. The convention center is here, as is Pike Place Market, where salmon fly. Don't miss the futuristic main library. Seattle's twin stadiums and the International District lie south of downtown.
