Hotel was agreeable, service was not. There was no one at the reception desk when I called about 9pm from my room. I tried 5 minutes later, no response. This is not what I call friendly, responsive staff.
Spacious room with all the amenities. Lot's of great restaurants nearby. Just a couple of blocks from Goethe and Schiller's homes and a few more blocks to Liszt's apartment. Wonderful dinner at the partner restauran,t the Swan right next to Goethe's house.
We stayed in this hotel en route from Poland to Belgium. Very nice reception area, some very pleasing features in this hotel. Unfortunately our stay was fairly short, checked in 6 pm and out at 9 am the following day so as unable to use the hotels facilities. But impressed enough to return for a longer stay on our next trip.
This is a pleasant, clean, bright hostel in an excellent location for sightseeing in Weimar. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are funky and cleverly decorated. Unlike most youth hostels, this one was very quiet, without a lot of loud partiers. More like a cozy hotel than a hostel. Would definitely recommend.
