"Great hotel but be aware of the actual price"
We loved this hotel - the room was small but had great utilization of the space (including being able to slide our suitcases under the bed, good wardrobe and cupboard storage, and interesting and useful storage areas in the bathroom). But, you should pay careful attention to ALL the fees mentioned on the expedia website. Because we booked this hotel "in a rush", we didn't pay enough attention, and so we were surprised to find that our credit card was charged for considerably more than what we had thought was the rate. For each night's stay, you will pay an additional $28.00 approx, plus the hotel will put a hold on your card for another $50 per night for "incidentals". When we asked what the $28.00 was for, we were advised it was for the "complimentary" welcome drink (one drink on the first night of our 6-night stay), plus the use of the "facilities of the hotel", such as the gym, the lounge area, etc. Why don't they just include this $28.00 in the nightly rate???

"Awesome location!"
Early check-in and secure individual luggage storage lockers. Room was much larger than I expected for a NYC hotel. Bathroom had been remodeled. Helpful front desk staff. Great value!

"Incomparable beds and lovely staff "
Beds super comfy and sheets crisp and clean. Excellent shower. Rooms are badly organized so feel cramped. Our beds were so far apart that you could not reach the light on the middle bedside table from either bed. As such one bed was so close to the entrance door where there was also a desk with a way too big desk chair that it just all felt unnecessarily cramped as you could barely enter the room and immediately encountered obstacles. The desk blocked the closet door etc....i.e. we were in Manhattan. Nothing new there I guess. The bathroom clearly needed some TLC, but the shower worked very well. And finally the window provided absolutely no sound insulation from the traffic on Broadway. Now some might say it's NY, live with it....well I have lived 15 years four streets South of the hotel and I did not live with it for one day. Those windows were lousy full stop. However, the friendliness of the staff, the convenient location, the great beds and lovely lobby all made up for the shortcomings mentioned above. We will definitely stay there again.

Staff very accommodating and friendly. Valet parking made coming and going easy. Subway (1) was nearby, as well as decent restaurants. Museums and park within walking distance. I'll be back again.

"Great Location"
We stayed for 4 nights during christmas week and loved the location and room. We were two adults and two kids (6 and 8 year old kids). Hotel facilities are a bit dated but charming. We booked a king suite which had a separate sitting room with queen sofa bed . Our bedroom had a king bed and both rooms overlooked the street (76th). The bathroom was tiny, but that did not bother us too much. There was a tiny kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, a tiny sink, coffee maker and electric water kettle. They provided 2 cups, 2 plates and 2 sets of silverware even though we had booked the room for 4, which was a bit annoying. A dining table in the sitting room seated four. Housekeeping can be better - they did not clean the dishes on any of the days. The location was fantastic. There was a grocery store around the corner, a great parisian patisserie across and the best dining places of upper west side within a 0.5 mile radius. We had dimsum at Red Farm and brunch at Sarabeths. The Subway was very close (72th and 79th st stations). the neighborhood was very clean and family friendly.
