"Good location hotel"
It is very close to downtown, walking distance to Chinatown. very nice staff service. Facilities are okay, enough for the travelers who stays most of the time outside. I recommend this hotel for its cheap price!

Knights Inn Toronto

117 Pembroke St, Toronto - Map
"Knights Inn Downtown"
This hotel is convenient for the downtown area and public transit. There is no regular free parking but public lots nearby for $15.00 nightly and metered street parking during the day/evenings. The desk is staffed 24 hours and the staff was helpful in my limited dealings with them. There is 24 hour grocery pretty close and a microwave in the common area. They also allowed me to check in early with no issue at all which was very helpful. The room itself was small but the bed was comfortablew enough. The light fixture in the ceiling rattled when anyone above my room walked around. I used some toilet paper to pad the fixture and it worked well enough to quiet it doen. The bathroom had plenty of hot water but the window in the shower stall itself had at one point been covered with some type of privacy film that had been partially scraped away. No real privacy issue but could be off-putting. also the grout and caulk was a bit broken and dirty.

"Budget hostel - good value for the low price"
Don't expect luxury or even mediocrity, but for the price and the location, I'd say this is a good deal. The rooms are very small but clean, and the beds are comfortable enough. I think some listings say the rooms have shared bathrooms, but at least all the rooms I saw had a toilet and a shower in the room - and I do mean *in* the room (a stall for the shower, but the toilet is just sitting in the corner), so probably not ideal if you're sharing a room with someone. There was plentiful warm water, heating, and WiFi. I didn't interact much with the staff, and they seemed to speak quite limited English, but everything worked how it was supposed to. Note that when you arrive, there might not be anyone at the hostel: you'll need to call them using a phone by the door, they'll give you the door code so you can get inside, and they'll come give you the keys within 5-10 minutes. Chinatown is not the most scenic part of town, but it's safe, quiet (this is definitely not a party hostel), within walking distance of a lot of areas, and the Kensington area that's right next to the hostel is a cute little hipster bubble.

"Nice hotel"
This hotel is a nice hotel and convenient. This staff on hand are friendly. Inside the hotel appeared newly renovated and was clean on arrival. This location was quiet, even though it is close to the road I could not hear any traffic. The breakfast was okay for the rating of the hotel. It was great quality but lacked quantity.

The room was clean. It was not warm during the winter time. The fridge generated bad noise frequently (which was much worse over the night).
