"Great and not just for the price"
We took our 2 yr old son to SF for his BDay and the hotels in the city were crazy expensive. We went to a Giants game the first day, then stayed at this hotel, then took him to the zoo the next day. The location of this hotel was perfect. We went to dinner in Burlingame which is pretty close and it was great. Check-in was fast and easy and the room was the cleanest hotel room I have seen in a long time. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. My only complaint was with breakfast. I wasn't even going to have any of the complimentary breakfast because it seemed like it was just sugary cereal, but went to check it out anyway. I got some cereal for my son and realized after giving him two bites that the milk was spoiled. It was gross. Coffee was not good, especially since they only had sweetened creamer, plus the coffee itself tasted old as well. Next time I won't even try with the breakfast but everything else was great.

"An excellent 'non-luxury' hotel."
Excellent location, close to muni and multiple cable car lines. Wonderful friendly staff. This is a combination hotel/hostel, and they really cater to the local indie music artists -- the ground floor front has several rehearsal studios, which you do hear (softly) if your room is in the front half of the building. Highly recommended if you're on budget and/or a musician.

"OK - but!"
Owners seriously improving the facility.. Room fine and clean. "Breakfast" cellophane carbs (bad), bananas (good), coffee(bad). Same as all these places. NOTE: One driveway in and out on a curve with low visibility and over speeding cars. Be careful! The motel sign helps block traffic view.

"Nice location at a reasonable price."
Only about a block from the turnaround of the cable car, and very close to street car, and BART so you can get to just about anywhere very easily. Lots of nice stores nearby and a CVS across the street that was convenient. Old building, the room was simple but very clean, so for the price it was a good stay. Only thing was there was a fair amount of homeless people hanging around near the front. They weren't a problem, but just to be aware of.

"All in All not too bad"
The place was very clean and fairly quiet. I don't think I would stay there for a vacation with my wife and kids, but for a business trip it was more than adequate. The price was very reasonable for the accommodations provided. No coffee pot but the refrigerator and microwave were very convenient. Internet access was reliable and fairly fast for a motel.

"Pride at the Taylor"
This hotel was exactly what we expecting. The price was great for a very busy weekend in San Fran. It was clean and the staff was great. It is not a fancy place but it was a comfy bed and conveniently located in walking distance to most things. The noise level is what you would expect from being in a busy city...sirens, traffic and occasionally some loud people but nothing crazy. There was a mini fridge and microwave in our room but there are so many amazing restaurants within minutes.

"Loud Hostel close to Union Square"
Depending on what you're looking for in a Hostel I might or might not recommend it. GOOD: - close to union square and downtown. - Comfy beds - tons of young people from all over the world - free breakfast BAD: - it's loud. The windows don't close all the way so it sounds like they would be open - you hear everything. - the WiFi is not very good and stops working every once in a while - if you don't like white toast, cereal or waffles, you won't like the breakfast - if your scared of old elevators, you might not wanna check in there All in all it's pretty cheap for downtown san Francisco. We had a private room with private bathroom.

"Nice hotel and close to bus and train stations. "
Nice hotel for the price if you are only there to stay for a littler (change dress and sleep) must of the time. I stay for 2 days. They have a TV with satellite channel & pay per view, so you can watch TV at night and mornings before you go out. I have a good refrigerator (big), microwave plus TV. Not all room have windows (they have a fan). Went I book, I ask for a window room or you can get a non-window room. Yes , room don't have air conditioner or telephone, so bring you cell phone. I don't have a fan but the windows open keep the room nice and cool (day and Night), I don't know on hot summers (I was on April). The room was very clean, plus the bathroom too (out side). Bathroom are sharer at lest you ask for a room with full bathroom. It a sink in the room. Staff was nice and help full. The out side I have no problem (Coming late at night or even at day time). Just don't give money or the will follow for more money. They won't do nothing to you as I have see on the reviews. If you are scare just call/take a taxi, problem fix. There are lot of restaurant and bars around the area. Remenber this hotel is not a 3,4 rate hotel.

"Great Location/Best Place for the Price"
When I first arrived I had no clue how to enter this Hostel. It was my first experience staying at a hostel. There was a call box on the door and you had to ring the bell and the Office unlocked the front door. Once I arrived the office gave me a key and required a $10 cash deposit just in case the key was lost. I was given a clean blanket, sheet, and pillow case. I had went upstairs to my room number and unlocked the door. There were three sets of bunk beds. So the room can hold 6 people. I saw an empty top bunk so I threw the sheet on and pillow case along with my stuff there was nobody in the room at the time. The room smelled and was a little dirty. But for what I paid in the price it was tolerable. I then went downstairs and roamed around and went to the lounge and kitchen downstairs. There was a couch, tables, and a tv. There were a few people hanging out downstairs. The plus about this place is there is a full size kitchen with a fridge and microwave. Your able to purchase and cook any type of food. The location was right be the civic center. I had gone out a wandered around San Francisco at the end of the night I came back to the Hostel and the room had three other occupants there. Throughout the next few days it was easier to stay because I adjusted and got to know the other people staying. If your able to be open minded and sacrifice a little privacy this place is the cheapest way to stay. Just expect the worst and everything would be ok.
