"Very cozy. This place makes you feel like home. The bedroom is nice and clean. The common room, where you can put your food in the fridge, provides free coffee/tea. This was our first time at both a ryokan and an Onsen so we don’t have an awful lot to compare it to on those aspects. "We took japanese style bedroom but the futons were super thin so uncomfortable. The private onsen was a bit smelly making the experience less enjoyable. For the travel to reach the place, we struggle little to go by bus. For the positive, the staff was amazing and helpful, the breakfast has lot of varieties for everyone. The room was super clean, spacious and very beautiful. Spending time with dogs around was lovely... what an amazing concept hotel."

"Beautiful property right along the river with incredible service. The staff are very attentive and spoke fantastic english. Very nice, spacious rooms. We got to see the fire lighting ritual and had an amazing dinner. The only downside was the price of the dinner, it is not a cheap meal so make sure to check that it fits within your budget before ordering."

"Staff was spectacular, I'm so sorry they have to deal with less than delightful guests on what seems like a regular basis. We greatly appreciate you and enjoyed our gift of champagne. Area is very walkable, bed is on the softer side of Japans hotel beds. Our room was big enough and it was one of the smaller ones. There is a smoking room by the elevator that opens frequently so there is some cigarette smell when you go to the lobby. I do wish there was some food options though, Takayama restaurants close pretty early in the vicinity and it would be stellar if there was more available at the hotel. Breakfast options were great, maybe add a dinner too?"
