Day 1: San Jose and Irazu
Your introduction to Costa Rica’s many wonders begins upon arrival at the San Jose International Airport, where tour representatives greet and transfer you to the Best Western Irazú—your comfortable accommodation for two of seven nights.
Day 2: Poas Volcano
The Poas Volcano is located approximately 90 minutes from San Jose. The picturesque drive takes you past coffee, sugar, and tropical plantations as you wind your way upward into the cloud forest of Poas Volcano National Park. Accompanied by your naturalist guide, take a short walk to the top of the volcano and observe its enormous crater and deep, green lake. While usually dormant, the Poas crater releases outlets of steam and sulfur streaming skyward. Come lunchtime, dine at a quaint, traditional local restaurant. After lunch, you visit the village of Sarchí, Costa Rica’s artesian center. This talented village is renowned for original woodwork, handicrafts, and colorful hand-painted oxcarts.Breakfast is served at the hotel and lunch is included during the tour.
Day 3: Arenal Volcano and Baldi Termae Hot Springs & Spa
Visit Arenal Volcano, the most active volcano in Costa Rica, and take this opportunity to relax at the Baldi Termae Hot Springs & Spa for a truly unforgettable experience. This is one of the most popular tours in Costa Rica. En route to the volcano, your tour passes picturesque small villages, beautiful landscapes, and tropical plantations. On a clear day, La Fortuna, the closest town to Arenal volcano, offers impressive views of the majestic colossus. Costa Rica’s most active volcano periodically erupts, rumbling as it sends clouds of smoke and ash into the sky. Witness the spectacle of the volcano at night: Red lava snakes down rocky slopes, illuminating the sky like a magnificent display of fireworks. You can feel the volcano’s rumblings while relaxing at the Baldi Termae Geothermal Hot Springs and Jacuzzis. Accommodations at the Volcano Lodge Hotel or a similar property are included for two nights.Breakfast is provided at the hotel and lunch and dinner are included during the tour.
Day 4: Caño Negro Wildlife Reserve
Discover one of Costa Rica’s most important conservation areas at Caño Negro Wildlife Reserve. Cruise down a jungle river to observe numerous species of birds and wildlife.Breakfast is provided at the hotel and lunch is included during the tour.
Day 5: Jaco Beach
Enjoy a scenic drive over the mountains and down to the Central Pacific Coast. The Best Western Jaco Beach Hotel is your base of exploration for the next two nights. Transfers are through regularly scheduled shuttle transportation.Breakfast and lunch are included.
Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park
With its 3,000 pristine acres (1,214 hectares), Manuel Antonio is considered one of the most beautiful National Parks in Costa Rica. Characterized by white-sand beaches, abundant wildlife, lush tropical vegetation, and scenic trails, the park is one of the most visited parks in the country. It has a wooded area densely populated by monkeys and raccoons, and three exceptionally gorgeous beaches. Manuel Antonio is one of the few areas where the rare squirrel monkey lives. Trails head through secondary and primary forests of cedar, raft, and mangle.Breakfast is served at the hotel and lunch is included during the tour.
Day 7: Carara National Park
Carara National Park covers a low mountainous area of 15,000 acres (6,070 hectares) spanning an interesting transition between dry and rainy tropical forests. This region is home to many animals, such as the rare scarlet macaw, and a large diversity of plant and tree species. With your guide’s assistance, this excursion introduces you to the wonders of this intricate eco-system. Walking in your guide’s footsteps, observe several species of monkeys, birds, crocodiles, iguanas and frogs along the Tarcoles River. In the afternoon, your tour heads to San Jose, where you spend your final night at the Best Western Irazú.Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Day 8: Farewell to Costa Rica
Transfer from your hotel to San Jose International Airport.

Reservation confirmation is required. You must contact Gray Line Costa Rica at least 24 hours in advance of your desired tour date. On the day of your tour, please present your voucher(s) upon check-in. Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of your scheduled departure time. |
