Embark a morning river cruise along the Mai Ping River. Known as the “lifeline of the province,” this river provides an important supply of water to the surrounding farms and picturesque passing scenes as you cruise along its quiet banks. Enjoy an hour-long shore excursion to a rural farming house for a glimpse of local life and customs.

Back on land, stop by one of Thailand’s most technologically-advanced museums. Learn about the Lanna Dynasty—a powerful kingdom founded in the 13th century that lasted over 500 years. Sit down to a filling Thai- and Western-style buffet lunch before a visit to Roi An Phan Yang—an exhibition house where local artisans display their masterfully-carved wooden objets d’art.

Board a horse cart or tram for a personalized tour around Wieng Kum Kan. Recently unearthed in 1984, this ancient fortified city was abandoned and forgotten over 700 years ago just before Chiang Mai became a capital city. Almost 20 temple sites have been uncovered and await your discovery. At 5 PM, transfer back to your hotel to rest and preprare for dinner. At 7 PM your driver will escort you to Khum Khantoke, set on the banks of the Kao River, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a show amidst its charming gardens and pavilions. Inspired by the traditions of the ancient Lanna Empire, Khantoke is a well-established experience native to Northern Thailand including deliciously unique dishes and dance performances. Lounge comfortably on the floor against triangular back pillows as an enchanting evening of tasty dishes and costumed dancers create the perfect ending to your cultural tour of Chiang Mai.
