Days 1-2: Hill Tribe trek
Leave your hotel in the morning and head north from Chiang Mai in a Songthaew (an open pick-up truck) with your fellow travelers. After a quick stop for lunch head on foot into the tropical forest for a 2 to 3 hours walk to the village where you will spend the night. Explore the traditional village and help prepare the evening meal. After eating your evening meal with the villagers, retire to a traditional-style bamboo hut.
For the next couple of days, hike through forest and rural terrain and visit some of the Hill Tribe villages. The villages are filled with ethnic minorities that fill the hills of northern Thailand, and many of them have retained their own languages and belief systems which they have held through the centuries. Interact with people of the hill tribes and learn about their cultures and way of life. Learn about elephants and how they live, and have a chance to ride one through the jungle.
Day 3: Chang Mai
Water-levels permitting, jump aboard a bamboo raft (surcharge) for a trip down the river, or hike through the tropical forests to one of the local villages. After lunch, you will be met by a Songthaew and driven back to Chiang Mai.

Note:
Porters may be available to carry bags on days 2 and 3 at an additional cost. Basic aerobic fitness is required as extensive walking is involved.

After you book your activity, follow these 3 easy steps:
1. Print your voucher; locate the voucher in your travel confirmation e-mail or in the My Trips/My Itineraries link on the site.
2. Follow the redemption instructions on your voucher; it iscritical to do this before you depart.
3. Take all vouchers with you; you must redeem one voucher per person.
Exchange your voucher for activity:
Reservation confirmation is required. Please contact Urban Adventures Thailand at least 24 hours prior to your tour date to ensure your reservation: contact information is provided on your printed voucher(s). Upon arrival at the redemption location, present your printed voucher(s) and photo ID in exchange for service. |
