Safe and a great location

This was a very comfortable hotel. I was in Stockholm on my own and I always felt safe. The first couple of days I rode Bus #2 to the main part of the city. By the third day, I realized that I could walk most distances with ease. This was during daily snowfalls and very cold weather. The hotel had a very good breakfast. It was called a continental breakfast, but it was a buffet. For a weekend, it would be perfect. However, I was here for a week and I began longing for more choices. Overall the hotel was located near shopping, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops. I couldn’t ask for more.

European Style Experience Centrally Located

Small bathroom, sitting on the commode, your knees are almost IN the tiny shower. Staff was very nice to a person. Warm, friendly, helpful, courteous. BE SURE to visit the CENTRAL BADET, the central bathhouse on the main walking street (Trollingsgatan??? I forgot the exact name). It’s set in the middle of a block, is old style, hot tubs, salt pools, swimming pool, food bar, bar, white robes, lots of folks go there to get away from the winter. GREAT experience. You can rent everything. Get a massage there too!! The hotel is 15 min walk to the Stureplan (main shopping area) and 10 mins to Stockholm School of Economics and 15 mins to the Central Badet. One block off the Birger Jarl Boulevard main drag. Four blocks to the nearest T station. (see the artsy T stations--but explore the right line--not the Green Line--all above ground). Go see the Vasa Museum--WHY would you make a national embarrassment a national monument? The bus tour leaves from the harbor--a bit of a challenge to get to--if you’re not adventurous, take a cab. Harbor tour is a loop--we had lots of ice this year. The Bus Tour was much more informative than the boat tour. It snowed all day every day for five days. 2010 was the worst winter they said in ten-twelve years. It’s COOOLD, always below freezing. Bring mittens and ski cap!!
